Sorry for not replying sooner. I was just on the liver reduction diet prior to surgery, nothing special I did, but I did join a gym & met with Erin Light the fitness coach for Clarian, she did a full body analysis which was very interesting & worth the $25. As far as exercise, I swim a lot & was able to buy season passes to Holiday World this year & have been walking all over that place at least 1 time per week. And let me tell you, it feels AMAZING knowing that I can fit on all the rides! - After surgery, I followed the Clarian manual (as best as I could) I barely could get my water in & I do believe I started pureed foods a little early. I use the Bariatric Advantage protein shakes, but they are quite pricey $50 for one tub, so I recently switched to Nectar & Whey Protein from walmart.  My surgery only took 45 minutes, I went in around 8 & woke up at 9, I expected to be out 2-4 hours & was worried something went wrong, but everything was great. You can never read enough before surgery, make sure you get some Gas-X chews to take with you to the hospital, it will help with the gas pain which is worse than the actual surgery, at least I thought so. - My goal weight is 145, I am currently at 246, so another 101 lbs & I will be in wonderland! lol. Hope you are doing well. Do you have a surgery date yet?

Topic: RE: Chicken...it's whats for dinner! STUFFED BSCB, ready to cook!!
I had chicken for dinner.  This is what I did. I got my idea from Hungry Girl.  She is on the cooking channel. She does everything low fat, low carb, low calorie if she can.  I took boneless chicken breasts, used low fat refried beans (1/2 cup) then stirred in 1/4 cup Fat Free shredded cheese with a little taco seasoning. Now this is where I ventured off her recipe. She used fat free nacho chips. I used corn flakes (1 cup) ground them up a little,  put in some onion powder, and taco seasoning.  Assembly was as follows.  take the boneless chicken breasts that was pounded flat,  spoon on about 2-3 tablespoons of the refried beans cheese mixture on the breasts and roll up. Now take the ground corn flakes and after spraying the chicken breast with butter flavor pam to make them moist sprinkle the corn flake mixture over it. bake covered about 20-25 min then uncover and bake another 20-25 minutes.  A great change of pace for chicken.

I also had RNY on July 13, 2007 and I am struggling also. I have not regained much weight but about 10-12 pounds from my lowest weight and it just won't come off. I exercise a lot. I am almost compulsive about my exercise. I journal all my food and I am not that far off my plan, or so I think. I try to count my calories and protein amounts each day. Keeping my protein at 75 or higher and the calories at 1200 - 1500 each day.  I have been emailing the dieticians with the hope they can help me figure out what to change and how to get those 10 -12 off. I have tried to change my exercise with the hopes that will shock my body into letting it go. I know I don't look bad at my current weight of 146 but it is still NOT where I want to be which is a head issue. I am scared   ?#@*LESS that if I say it is okay and I become complacant I will be about where you are at putting the majority of my weight back on.  So it is not okay that I am 10#'s heavier than I want to be.  So my suggestion for you is to email the dieticians and get their advice and journal everything Use my philosphy of  "If you bite it you write it"!!!  I think that would be a good place to start.

I'm so sorry you are having a bad time!  I haven't had my surgery yet, but what I hear people say is to get back to the basics!  Eat your protein first at every meal and snack, drink your water, eat healthy carbs if you still need it after the protein.  Go sugarfree again if you're not!  Hang in there and know that your pouched worked for you once - it will again!
I also have heard of the 5 day pouch test that some people use.  Here's a link:
http://www.5daypouchtest.com/      I think it's strict but maybe that's what you need for a kickstart.

At least you are in the right place - lots of support here!
Hugs to you

Topic: RE: Sleeve on 2/1/11 now RNY this month. Seriously.
Hey all!!

Thank you for the support.. I wanted to let u kno that I had the RNY yesterday here @ St. V's in Carmel (in room 275 if you wanna come keep a little girl company! lol). It really happened so fast from getting the insurance approval on Monday then getting scheduled on Tuesday for surgery yeseterday to Class on Wednesday and Thursday-- which i drove from Muncie & stayed @ the Hotel Indigo (sidebar, you MUST try that hotel out. Loved it and most of these hotels around here have GREAT discounts for hospital visitors. Normal rate for our hotel room was $199 but we got it with tax for $106!) I hear that I might have to stay a little longer-- like till monday or tuesday because of my low platete history. So.. I'm not goin anywhere if u wanna drop in. Hopefully I wont fall asleep on you guys because of the Dilaudid IV meds if any of you do. hahah.
