Topic: anyone know where I can get discount tickets for Indiana Beach?

We're doing a family camping trip the last weekend in July.  We'll get free gate admission, but of course it will cost extra to do rides.  With 14 people, it's a little cost prohibitive!  I've checked coupon websites with no luck.  Thanks in advance!

If you find someone who you connect with regardless if they have had WLS or not, then go for it. But I can totally understand why you would want to be with someone who you can relate to in this way. I recently started dating again & it really is so annoying to keep explaining over & over again why I'm not eating this or why I don't drink with my meals, etc.

I don't know why it wouldn't be a good idea.  You would already have that in common, and he would understand your meal limitations if you went out to dinner - no explanations needed.

I wouldn't rule someone out just because they've had WLS.

..that has had WLS.  I've heard other people say it wasn't a good idea, but I think it could be a great relationship if it was with the right person.  Agree?

Topic: RE: THYROID
I had a revision and found out I had a thyroid problem in the process, apparently is was not found in my previous surgery I had in 2007. In 07 I had the lap-band surgery done, had it for about 3 days it slipped due to vomiting at home during recovery. I went in to have it repaired/removed,my choice i decided to have it removed. Fast forward by 3 years I had the by-pass done by Dr. Mattar. It was during all the pre-op testing the second time around that it was found that I had hypothyroidism.I have to still take my medicine for it everyday and have my levels checked. So far so good. I am glad it was discovered because i can tell the differance in me and so can other people that are around me on a daily basis. I hope this has helped.

I would think keeping a food journal would be a good place to start.  Write down every bite!  Total  your calories, grams of carbs & proteins (fats if you want too).  I also total ounces of fluid.

Make sure you eat protein first at every meal and snack.  Then eat veggies, fruit and whole grain.

Omit white flour, white sugar, white potatoes, white rice, pasta, junk food & fast food.  I would omit these for at least 3 weeks to DETOX yourself.  (Yes, eating simple carbs are addicting and  cause you to want and eat more.  They provide calories but little nutrition)

Before you snack - ask yourself:
How long since I just ate?
How long until my next planned meal or snack? (Tell yourself: I can wait 2 hours - I will drink 8 oz of _______(non calorie, non carbonated beverage).
Am I really hungry? (How do you know)
Being hungry is not an emergency!!

Try to get in 80-100 gm protein a day.  Move around - exercise, take the stairs, park far away from buildings, etc.

Go to your support group.  Read on the Obesity Help forums everday for a few weeks - it helps you stay focused.  Read cognitive therapy and thought process books, articles.  I like the Beck Diet Solution - it is about being aware of your thoughts.

Best wishes to you.
