Topic: RE: I kinda wanna date someone...
Yes I agree... Plus I feel like it'd be nice to be with someone who understands my priorities on my weight and staying active and can compliment my life style. Changes. Granted I had the DS not the RNY so it makes things like a date easier because its not quite as obvious though I do get a lot of, wow thats all your getting are you sure comments or even worse a lot of you're a typical girl whose worried about her weight that doesn't need to comments from guys when I order a small portion or low carb (best way for a DSer to eat ) and I often just think in the back of my mind I was close to 400 lbs at one point trust me I need to eat like this but don't want to reveal I had weightloss surgery. I just had plastics so have yet to date anyone since then but before then I also worried about the relationship progressing to that point and the loose skin which happened exactly once and then he sort of lost interest well not in being my friend but never tried again and I wondered is he being typical guy and got what he wanted or was he so turned off by the skin that he never wanted more as he seemed to really like me before. Heck when I posted a facebook status saying I'm going for plastics he liked it and that set me into being a paranoid mess (So I have issues clearly). Another thing is I'm doing online dating and some guy told me about all the fat chics that message him not realizing how big I used to be and it really kinda hurt my feelings even though I was at goal by then so looking at me you can't tell. Anyways my rambling boils down to if I met someone I clicked with who had weightloss surgery I would much prefer that. That being said as a DSer my diet is quite different the RNYer so I don't know how well that would work long term but I'd rather deal with that aspect than the lack of understanding aspect.
Topic: RE: Question about plastic surgery
They'll usually only pay for the skin removal not the full tummy tuck, I didn't get approved despite being told by three different plastic surgeons I have the largest "apron" they'd ever seen and it causing me all kinds of problems. I wound up financing my plastic surgery cause I needed it that badly.
Topic: RE: Question about plastic surgery
Even if they don't finance you should try to find a financing company if you need that route plenty do and my credit is horrible and I got approved (with a financial reference from my landlord) so there are options even if the doctor's office doesn't finance.

How did your surgery go. I've only met dr Inman briefly on the all day orientation. She seemed very nice and had a lot of energy. Did you have any complications. You've lost a lot of wieght.

Topic: RE: IU Health North (Clairan)Hospital experience
I had my sleeve there last week. Dr Mattar is my surgeon too. I cannot say how great an experience I had. Everyone was great!
I didnt have RNY, but my pain was well controlled. I really didn't have any pain to speak of. I stayed two nights which seemed about right. Dr Mattar wants to make sure you are taking fluids OK. They had most of supplies. I did take my own pjs, toiletries, etc.
I cannot think of anything else that could have been done. It was great!

Topic: RE: sample menu
I hear where your coming from. The liver reduction diet was very hard for me!!! I definately got my 2 milks in each day either 2 yogurts or a yogurt and some milk. I ate a lot of chicken & turkey. Did creative things with salads for lunches and dinner. I used different kinds of lean cuts of meat on salad, chicken, turkey, roast beef. Found newer dressings that were lighter in calories and more simple. I did not pour the dressing on the salads like before. I put it in a cup and dipped every 3 or 4 fork full of veggies. I tried a lot of new veggies that I had not eaten before so that made it fun to play in the kitchen. Made the plate look interesting too! . Breakfast was hard for me because I just don't do breakfast. I would make like mini omeletes with some canadian bacon, mushrooms, peppers, onions, little bit of cheese. I would eat cottage cheese with some turkey bacon on the side for protein. It really does work. It is hard. I ate pretty healthy before however my portions were out of whack! Way out of whack! lol I just put the protein first and then added on things that I could have. I know your saying well there seems to not be much left. There is Be patient and kind with yourself . Remember this is a good thing that your starting. May I ask who's your dr that put you on the diet? Mine is Dr. Mattar. I wish you much success. Hope this helped a little? Take care. Dawn

Topic: IU Health North (Clairan)Hospital experience
I am awaiting a surgery date for RNY surgery. I am having the Surgery at IU Health North in Carmel Indiana. My surgeon is Dr. Mattar. I was wondering if anyone could share with me what their hospital experience was? I am trying to plan and anticipate any areas I might need to watch out for. If would love to hear from anyone. Thanks so very much. Take care. Dawn
I have questions such as:
Were you made to feel comfortable?
How was the staff as far as support and in relation to your needs?
Any problems with pain management?
Was your stay too long or too short? (Why)
Did they supply you with most the things you needed?
If you could change anything what would it be?

I'll be going to Wishard Hosital Dr Rajiv Sood. Yes it is a lot of money and they do not finance, all money is due 2 weeks before surgery day.
Some insurances are willing to pay if there is documentation of there being a medical reason as to why it needs to be done, and some just won't cover at all.
I would say to have everything documented and it's worth a try.
