Topic: RE: MEDS AFTER SURGERY
Each person is different and each doctor is different. It depends on what your body will need. If your trying to buy prior to surgery it is not big deal. They will let you know what to start off with and you will be fine. I started off after surgery withjust taking 2 chewable centrum multivitamin. Then when my diet changed from liquid the vitamins increased and changed a lot. So, talk to your dr and dietician they will hook you up. Good luck. Dawn

Topic: RE: Which Hospital to Get RNY Done?
I cannot tell you from experience about St. Francis or IU-Clarion, I can tell you that I would never go anywhere other than St. Vincent's. I had the Roux en y done there November 8th 2010 by Dr. Cacucci, friends of mine have had the roux en y's done there also by Drs. Inman,  and Huse and everything is going well. I love Dr. Cacucci. The staff and doctor's at St. Vincent are amazing, I have NEVER been treated as well as I was there, and I have had two c sections, ligation, hysterectomy and tonsillectomy. I just don't see how you can go wrong with St. Vincent's. I hope this post helps.

Topic: RE: Is it possible to get Indiana Medicaid to pay for me to get Bariatric Surgery?
they do cover it, hoosier healthwise was what I was on. You have to go through 6 months of supervised weight loss program, etc. Also you have to actually fit the requirements to have the surgery. I would find a Bariatric center of your choice & ask them if they take your insurance.

Topic: Is it possible to get Indiana Medicaid to pay for me to get Bariatric Surgery?

How can I get Indiana Medicaid to pay for me to have this surgery? I am a little over 100lbs overweight. I don't have diabetes, heart trouble, high blood pressure or any of the medical problems that some obese people endure. I am just a overweight depressed woman with the only current medical problem being a herniated disc in my lumbar. Is it at all possible for medicaid to help me???

Congrats on your surgery date!  I had a revision of my rny last year.  They redid the short y portion of my rny.  I was back to nornal within a week and was at a charity walk two weeks later!  Wishing you the best of luck on your continued weight loss journey!
