Topic: DS'er with Dr. Inman
I'm going to go see Doctor Inman on the 5th. I'm really wanting to do the DS procedure. I hear she is a great surgeon and all. I was wondering a couple of things:

1. I had to admit, but i'm horrible at the insurance stuff. My insurance covers DS and bariatrics but it's under an 80/20 coverage. My out of pocket will be $2500 + copay of $500. Do surgeons offices offer payment plan for this? is it due upfront or post precedure?

2. My insurance BSCS of Illinois requires 6 medically supervised diet. Will that be supervised by Dr. Inman or my internist? I really don't have a "PCP"...also...is there a specific diet she uses?

3. What is her after care recomendations as far as supplements are concerned? I know vitalady and things like that are good resources AND I know my body, my health and I need to do what is right for me...HOWEVER :) - I'm curious to what Dr. Inmans recomendations are for post-op care.

It went great. thank you for asking. The surgery was perfect and i came out of recovery well. The pain in the begining was severe but bareable. Now the pain is almost all gone and im totally mobile and feeling great. I had some problem with nausea in the begining but that has been my only problem.

If you havent gotten an answer yet, call and talk to Jennifer in Dr John Huse office, at St Vincent Carmel. That is who I worked with and Jennifer is an AMAZING help.

I had to have 6 months of a dietician, or a letter from my doc stating that I would benefit now instead of waiting. A psych eval , and proof of my co morbidities, which were almost the same as yours are. If you have any more questions, contact me here or on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/MichaelandAmberHolt

GOOD LUCK!!!

Topic: RE: I got a date
I didn't follow the rules and my body learned to adapt and absorb what I eat, thus, leading to gaining all of my weight back, plus more :(

Thank you! This time is going to be a whole lot different!

Congrats!

What happened with the rny? I had to have a revision to mine when I was ~7 months post-op because the stoma got brittle from all the endoscopes (major time scar tissue issues).

Wishing you the best!!

Topic: Hello all....
It's been quite awhile since I've been on OH. Shame on me I know. The people here were always my greatest resource of encouragement. I plan to change that and get my butt back here where it belongs more often!! I'd like to encourage all of the 'oldies' to get on here and post & let the newbies here know that we are there for them. I see several posts with questions that went unanswered. I'm sure they have the answers to those by now..and I am equally as sure that there will be many more new questions coming up...just as we had.

My weight is doing fine. I've been holding steady at 160-165 for the past 5 years. I'm finally going to the pain management center so getting relief there (yaye!). The big news is that I finally had enough and moved out & filed for a divorce this week. That will be a 300lb relief when it gets all done!

So...getting my life back on track!

I don't play mw3, but my kids do.  I was just curious how your surgery went. Would like to hear an update.

Topic: RE: IU Bariatrics Seminar
I am going to St. Francis this week. Seminar and Dr. Visit on same day. Since I have to take off work, I scheduled my psychiatric appointment on the same day. I am more familiar with the Indy south side and I know someone who had their WL surgery there. Good luck with your search. I think you can't go wrong if you go with either St. Vincent, IU or St. Francis.
Good luck!
