Thanks Sue. With the divorce and all, I haven't gotten on here as much as I intended to when I started this thread. I try to follow up with WLS'ers on Facebook (hint-hint all...add me to your facebook friend list!! LOL!). I miss the Pampered Chef parties..lol. We all need to get together again, huh?

Topic: RE: Indianapolisi 500 Mini Marathon
I have signed up.  I have done it 2 other times one in 2009 and then again in 2010  I did a walk run type thing and completed it both times in 3 hours 30 min.  My husband also did that with me.  He has also signed up and his goal is to run the entire course in 2 hours 30 min. Big goal for someone that had his knee scoped on Jan 6.  The ortho guy said no RUNNING until the end of march but I think it will be before then though.  He has not had weight loss surgery but has lost about 50 pounds and is struggling like I am to keep it off about 4 years later. My mouthy daughter said I will walk it with you so I signed her up real fast so I can have a walk/run partner.  She doesn't exercise much so I bet she is on the bus headed back to the finish line before miles 6- 8 which is the greates tone to be in. That goes around the INDY 500 track.

Topic: RE: DS'er with Dr. Inman
i had my ds with dr inman 3 1/2 years ago. as a cutter she is AWESOME! but her aftercare simply sucks! unless something has drastically changed since i saw the dieticians at st v's in august.... their aftercare sucks too! no one from either office wants to be aggressive about supplementation until you are already deficient. i personally cant wait untill i dont have to see any of them any more and can just let my pcp take care of it all.

Topic: question specific to Indiana and weight loss surgery insurance coverage
I know there's a forum dedicated to insurance coverage, but I wanted to post this here since this forum is dedicated to Indiana. We live in Indiana and my husband works in Indiana but the headquarters for his company are in Missouri. Our insurance excludes bariatric surgery coverage. I am curious if anyone here has had experience with having surgery approved on a plan that excludes bariatric services because of the law Indiana has that encourages employers to cover it.

I have been fighting having the surgery for 10-11 years because I wanted to lose weight on my own without surgical help. I have lost 120lbs on my own, but I have hit a plateau for almost a year even after changing my exercise/eating plan multiple times. I haven't been under 200lbs since I was in 4th grade so this has definitely been a lifelong battle for me. I have multiple weight loss attempts through different doctors, weight loss centers, dieticians, and weigh****chers. Although I have had some success I am still about 180lbs overweight with high blood pressure and asthma.

Jeremy,
Wishing you the best of luck running.  I might try to run part of it, but it all depends on my sister.  I can barely walk a 15 minute mile, I just naturally walk slowly.  I am not a runner either.  I'm doing the couch to 5k program to get me ready to run a 5k.  I think the longest I can run right now is only 5 minutes straight, but the program gives me 9 weeks to build up to it!

I am signed up to run.  This will be my first year competing, but I've done a few 5Ks and think I'll be able to complete the full event.  I'm hoping to be able to run the whole race, but will really just be happy to complete the distance.

I signed up to walk/run in the 500 Mini Marathon with my big sis!  This year I am actually going to complete it.  The last two years that I signed up I ended up in the hospital.  Is anyone else signed up?
