Topic: RE: Just wanted to say hi, and see what others thought who had Dr. Huse.
Hello, I don't know, I have had so many problems with the RNy I am afraid to do anything else.. I had the perforated Ulcer 1 year exactly to the date I had the RNY. The doctor I had was very uncaring and I am very sceptical of any surgery to do with my stomach, I would like to find something that we can all work together with each other to try and make what surgery we had work. I think I will ask for a scope to be done but if it shows everything is alright It is me..If not then I will do what it takes to have it fixed..I hope you and I will become friends and help each other and can help others.

The name of the group I started on FB is called Bariatric Buddies. There is hardly anyone on it right now, but I am hoping it will grow. I am hoping for some to be on it while I am in the Hospital. I have my surgery on 4/3. Dr Huse is wonderful, for what I know of him right now. I will see him again, pre surgery in 2 weeks :)

siberiancat, I can't improve on your suggestions except ... remember that when you are fixing meals, everything that you taste counts. I tasted so much at Christmas that I couldn't eat when we all sat down to dinner.
Topic: RE: IU Health North (Clairan)Hospital experience
This post is quite old but I had Dr Mattar last Sept 1, 11 and wonder how you are all doing. I've been out for 6 months now and very happy with my progress. Dr Matter is extremely nice, calm, and collected man. I just learned that he is no longer head of the IU dept. don't know why but hope he stays here at IU.

I replied to another post. I can reccommend Dr Mattar at IU Health. The bariatric center is at 73rd and I-465 on the west side of Indianapolis. I can look it up for you if you are from out-of-town.

I'm sure he does. Dr Mattar was my surgeon. They have regular open meetings for new patients so why don't you check it out.

What kind of revision are you having? I had an RNY and gained all my weight back, I need a revision. Do you know if they do a revision to help an RNY first? Thank You

Mustang, welcome, and I'm sorry you had such a rough experience. I think you should draft a letter to the practice manager and your surgeon, and send them certified mail. There is no excuse whatsoever for any medical professional to act in such a way, let alone to another medical professional. I hope you can find someone in the office better capable of assisting you.
