Topic: the ball is rolling! whats that physics term?
So after some reluctance i got my Dr (he was the reluctant one) to refer me to the bariatrics center in St francis hospital. when the nurse was writing the info down she made a commment that worried me. She said that my private insurence may be my saving grace. When I asked her what she meant by that, she said that medicaid doesnt pay for bariatric services, they had another patient that was turned down for it who was also on medicaid but things may have changed, she did not tell me how long ago it was for the patient. I told her that I was pretty sure it did, my nutritionist was fairly certian they did. i know my insurence from my job does not pay for any weight loss proceedures. I just need to keep my fingers crossed.
but on the bright side, I got the referal! I will have my appoinment date on mon (they are going to call me back with it.)

yeah, i hope.

Topic: Elusive Isopure
For those of you in Clarian's Bariatric program, they told us Isopure is available at Meijer. I just came from there, and they don't carry it. They even looked it up in the computer.

I ended up going to GNC and getting their store brand. Although they have Isopure, theirs is cheaper and the clerk said it tastes better.

Melissa,

I am glad you were able to post on the Indiana board. I have been reading all I see about little Noah. He has certainly made life exciting (and not always in a good way) for you and your family since the day he was conceived, hasn't he? It is so wonderful that he is improving so rapidly. Yes, I say 'rapidly'. My brother was born 3 months premature...in 1969. It's amazing what they were able to do for him to be able to thrive back then. Medicine has made some huge discoveries since then so I have complete confidence that Mr. Noah is going to grow up into a strong, healthy young man. After that first year, no one would had ever guessed that my brother Pete was a preemie.  Noah won't have any signs of it either.

I'm anxious to be able to meet Noah..as well as Joshua and Zachary. I've been working alot so I've barely had time to breathe (going in again today even..on a Sunday!). Perhaps it's healthier for Noah this way. I would hate to be feeling fine today and go see him, not knowing I'd show symptoms tomorrow for a cold or other bug. We'll just have to trust his loving Mommy to give him lots of hugs and kisses from all of his OH aunts and uncles.

huggs..
Sherri

Topic: Checking in

Hey there everyone. I'm finally getting a chance to log on to the Indiana board and check in. Thank you all for your prayers. They are working. Noah was born on Wednesday 3/24 at 0106 at 36 weeks gestation via c/section. He has been in the NICU since birth because he inhaled a lot of amniotic fluid and was breathing way too fast and requiring oxygen for a while. He is now off the oxygen and eating bottles by mouth. Some times he is too tired to eat much formula, so he gets the remainder of his required formula down a feeding tube. That's our main issue right now. He has to eat better before we can go home. I'm recovering well. Think I overdid it a bit the first day or two and have paid for it. I am taking my vicodin like a good girl now and feeling better. I will be released from the hospital tomorrow, but plan on staying in Noah's room with him. As much as I miss Joshua and Zachary, I feel like I need to be here with Noah for now. Hoping it won't be too long and we'll all be home together.

I would love visitors if anyone is up this way. We are at Clarian North. NICU is on the 3rd floor. Noah has tons of OH family that he is dying to meet! :)

Take care.

Kerry, thanks for your note. I will still be here on Tuesday, so if you PM me your last name, etc, I'll come check on you after your surgery! And of course, Noah would love to meet you too, when you feel up to it!

I agree with Duane.  My stomach started hurting like this after eating and even after drinking water.  I have been told I have crystals(??) in my gall bladder after having an ultrsound and then an MRI.  Now I have been told I need another screening..WHY??? Yank it out!

Christie, Thanks for the update.  Things sound good for both of them.  Still praying (never hurts).

Hi Melissa! I live in Danville too, and my RNY is Tuesday at Clarian North. When I am able to, I would love to come see little Noah! Patients are probably not allowed in, but I'd love to meet you and take a peek at him.

He really seems to have turned the corner today. I went to the NICU this am and he was only breathing in the 40's-50's. So I got to try a bottle with him. He took 10 ml of the 25 he is supposed to take by mouth before getting tired. Not too shabby for his first attempt. We put the rest down his tube! I'm so excited to see him start to make progress.

If anyone still wants to visit, you are more than welcome. I hate that no one has even seen him. He's pretty darn cute!! I'm not sure if I'll be discharged today or tomorrow, but even after I'm discharged, I'll be staying with him in his NICU room. You will be allowed in the NICU to meet/hold him as long as you're not sick. They do a health screening on all visitors. Please feel free to come visit, or call me. 457-1326 is my cell. I'm in room 428 at Clarian North and he's in NICU room 19.
