I finally made it!!  I am under 200 pounds.  I am at 197.  These last couple of weeks I have really worked hard at eating and exercising and it has all paid off. I just wanted to share it with all of you.

Have a great Easter Weekend.

Hi, I just wanted to introduce myself.  I have been on the RNY message boards here for awhile, but just realized there is also state message boards lol.  I am from Terre Haute and am having RNY surgery at st. vincents bariatric center of excellence  in Carmel with Dr. Diaz.  I was just approved by my insurance monday and am awaiting a date.  Is anyone else from Terre Haute or having their surgery in Carmel?

Tracy,

I had my first ovarian cist when I was about 20. They were drained...twice. They do it laprascopically (two 1/2" incisions..one at belly button, one at pelvis line). 18 YEARS later I was diagnosed with polycistic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). That was when I was also tested & diagnosed with insulin resistance (one of the symptoms of PCOS). I learned too that PCOS ws the cause for the hairs on my chinny *****hin. Now, my ovaries are shrunk up so much that they couldn't even tell the last time I had a scan if I still had cists or not. They also quit functioning since then. Nope. The hairs didn't go away. lol.

Some gyn's will drain the cists...but I've also had (idiotic) ones that told me that they don't do anything with them until they are the size of a football. Wrong answer! I personally would get in to see my gyn asap cause as you said, they are very painful....and the outpatient lap is well worth the day off of work.

Sherri

ps...PCOS is most common among women who had been overweight. Chalk another one up to obesity...huh?

Ashamed to say NO.  I was going to do a 5K with Sandy on 4/10 but a nephews birthday party came up that day.  I am still considering doing the one on 4/17.  She had send us out an e mail about these 2 in Bloomington.  I figured these are too tame for you and Alesia.

I am only one, But still, I am one.  I cannot do everything, but still I can do something.  And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do
the something that I can do.

I am signed up for both the mini and the Geist  The mini is the full course 13.1 grueling miles but Geist is only the 5K. I don't feel I am ready yet to do the mini. I have done one 5K already this year so I know I can complete it. I have done several of these over the past 3 years. I walked 2 nights ago probably about 6 mile and my hip was a little sore the next morining but I soon worked out the stiffness.

Is anybody doing the Mini Marathon, Geist Half Marathon, 5K's or 10K's?  If so, let's hear about it.

Tracy,
I am so sorry you are going through this cyst after all you have been through recently. I will lift you up in prayer and ask God to help you iwth the pain. I have not personally had a cyst but my sister did last year. She had an oophorectomy and two months later a hysterectomy. She suffered up until they did all of that but feels much better now. Please keep us informed of how you are doing.

I thought it was tuesday as well. I am having some memory issues that just wont go away grrrr. I will be so glad when the week is over and we get to celebrate Easter. What a glorious day!

Have a wonderful day tomorrow and take care!

I am told today is Wednesday.  I thought all morning it was Tuesday.  So I guess I have to go with the majority on this one.  The calendar says Wednesday too.

I am so glad tomorrow is April.  I am ready for it!!!

I was in MGH all Saturday night with a battery of tests to learn I have an ovarian cyst.  It hurts way worse than any of the surgery i recently had.  So, I was wondering what I need to do to get rid of it and when the pain goes away.

Anyone out there deal with these?  My deepest sympathy!!!  They hurt bad!!!

Huge hugz,
Tracy
