Topic: An Announcement and update
I haven't visited in awhile. I am pregnant twins and found out earlier this week that they are a boy and a girl!!! My husband and I are overjoyed. I'm 18.5 weeks pregnant and have gained about 25 pounds so far. I haven't visited in a minute. Lately everything has been opposite land. I am trying to get in 2500 calories a day per my nutritionist so she has come up with this plan that requires me eating a little every 90 minutes or so. The great news is that the twins are growing excellently and my OB and neonatologist says that I have adapted very well to a challenging situation. I just hope after the twins come I am too busy to do this eating every 90 minutes thing. It is a good habit now, not so good after the babies get here. Sorry for the rant, I am doing really well and the babies are coming along execellently. Just thought I would give everyone an update.

That is great you have your testing already scheduled.  I just wish my journey was over.  I am tired of being like this.

Congrats on starting on your journey! I also go through Clarian but i see Dr. Mattar. The program is very good and supportive. I'm sure you will have no problems on the Liver reduction Diet, the NUT's are very helpful with all of that! I have been approved and have my pre-op testing on the 21st of this month. So if ya have any questions about what i've already gone through with Clarian don't hesatate to ask! Take care and good luck!

Hi I live in Brazil.  I have yet to have the surgery yet, but I am trying.  My mom, dad, and sister all have had the RNY.  With amazing results.  I meet with Dr. Inman next month.  Kinda nervous.

Topic: Finally After 6 yrs
Well I am finally on the road to WLS after 6 yrs of whatever. I have my first appt with Dr. Inman next month at Clarion.  I am excited and scared.  I have medicaid so my requirements maybe the only thing that holds me back.  But I vow if I get denied  I will personally go to the Medicaid office and appeal.

I was set to do this 6 yrs ago at St Francis.  But they said they were not doing any more that year.  I am thinking my doctor then lied to me.  So now I have to do this mess all over again.   Anyways done venting.  Thanks

I just had my DS on March 24. She did not put me on 2 week liquid diet. I did have to do something the day before surgery. Breakfast I ate anything I wanted. Lunch was soft food. Then liquids for dinner. My DS was open. Sure it was painful. I'm almost 3 weeks out and dont really have any pain. I still cant sleep on my stomach. She did my surgery on my 22 Birthday! I wish I could have it lap but my BMI is to high for lap.

On the journey to losing weight, your friends & family will be the first people to try to knock you off. They do this not out spite, but out of being convicted and knowing they should do the same. It's easier to put someone down for doing the right thing, than for them to actually do it. So at your next family re-union or wherever you are eat your chicken and broccoli and smile when they make jokes about you, they are jealous!

My surgery was "open" so I'm not sure if she requires something different for lap.  Here's what I had to do and what I ate..
Day before surgery:
Normal breakfast - so I had steak and eggs
Soft lunch - KFC Mashed Potatoes (lots of them) lol
Clear liquid supper - Jello and chicken broth

I didn't have really any issues with having it open.  Sure I was sore, but it was all good :)

Hope this helps!  Go luck... you're gonna love your DS!

Biotin.. might help with the hair loss... I used it and had no trouble. RECCOMENDED by many!!

My son and DIL use sugar free pudding in the shake mix and love it. I personally couldnt choke any of it down so I constantly drank milk and nibbled on cheese sticks. that means about 8, 8ounce glasses of milk a day and about8 cheese sticks.. you are always full and always nibbling or sipping but to me it was worth it those first 6 weeks or so,.
