1- i brought my paperwork in,, but i imagine it could also be faxed.
2-no it is not absolutely necessary to bring someone one with you to the consultation.. helpful i am sure but not necessary,,, i didnt cause my husband had to work that day.
3-yes dr. stote is right there in the same office in the bariatric center
good luck!!

Okay I got up the nerve to do my measurements this morning. When I started this whole journey I took my measurements and after today's I have lost a total of 43 1/2 inches! Oh my gosh thank you GOD, RNY, and Dr. Huse. I cannot believe how much better I feel and how much energy I have.

I had the documentation faxed and had some with me as well.
I did not have a support person with me and really needed one to be there. If at all possible, find someone to go with you.
Dr. Stote is in the same office that you are going into for your consultation. The eval is a thorough one that will ask you about your family history, eating issues, etc...Mine took about an hour and fifteen minutes. You will get to see what we learned to do in class (Greenwell) where assessment and interview is concerned.
Let me know how it goes!

#1. You can do what you want but the way I did it was that I had the Dr. fax them over and I also had copies that I took with me just in case there was something wrong with the fax.
#2. I recommed that you do take someone else to your meeting with you because it is always better to have a second set of eyes and ears just incase there are questions that you forget to ask.
#3. Not 100% sure on this one but I believe that he IS in the hospital.
Good Luck on your wls!

Topic: Questions about St.Vincent initial consult
So, I have my initial consult with RoseMarie Jones next wednesday and I have a few questions for the people who have experience with St.Vincent.
#1- All the documentation I am supposed to get from my PCP, is that supposed to be faxed by her or am I supposed to bring it with me to the consultation? As of now, when bloodwork gets in my PCP plans on faxing everything including the referral..
#2- Is it absolutley necessary to bring a support person with you to the consult? I would love for my husband or mom to come with me but the day of my appointment falls on a day that neither one of them can get off work! Any previous experience or advice on this matter would be appreciated. If it is strongly reccomended to bring someone Im sure one of my support peeps could manage the day off, but it wont be easy..
#3- Does Dr. Stote, who does the psych evaluations have an office int the same building as the bariatric center or is it in a compleltey different location? I have my psych eval. in the morning and consult in the afternoon.. Any advice or insight into the psych evaluation would be much appreciated.
Thanks so much for your help! I am so grateful to have people who have been through this process to help. Your experience is invaluable!

Topic: Hump Day!
Well all, we've made it half way through the week!
How's your week going?
Mine's been kinda busy. Monday, had dr's apt, yesterday I had a job interview, today I'm meeting some old work buddies for lunch, tomorrow some friends from high school are coming over... Friday..I'm not sure what's going on. Saturday, my daughter has a girl scout trip and Sunday, I think Jason and I are going to go out for our anniversary (which will be Monday). Then of course, next week is semi busy... Monday, again is our anniversary, Tuesday Alexandria has a school program, Wednesday is Troy's birthday...
Is it June yet?!

A. Throw the scale out...if not out, put it in the closet and forget it's there.
B. Are you eating enough? If you're not eating enough your body will say "pfffft I'm not losin anything cause i'm starving!" and make sure you're getting your protein and vitamins...
C. Are you stressed about something? (other than your weight loss?) Stress can cause the body to slow down.
D. Switch up your routine. If you're doing all cardio, take a couple days and do strength training instead. Or vice versa.
All in all, it's likely just a stall, and you're probably still losing fat. Go by how your clothes feel, not the number on the scale. Don't give up...we all get to that "i wanna rip my hair out" stage.

Topic: Merrillville faciltiy?
Does anyone know the name of a hospital in Merrillville doing bariatric surgery? My insurance company is, as of May 1, only going to approve procedures done there. thanks!
Topic: RE: Hi Everyone!
Thank you all so much for your advice. I am doing much better this week with everything. I found Isopure and I am not having any issues with it. I appreciate all the advice.
Topic: RE: vitamins?
I just looked on the bariatricfusion.com site and noticed that the calcium listed is carbonate and not citrate. Does it really matter? All the reading/research Ive done said to take citrate. However when I couldn't tolerate the HUGH citrate tablets, my doctor okayed for me to take Tums which is carbonate only, but then the dietician told me to get on a citrate. I am now on the Bariatric Advantage chews. Just thought I see what everyone else is taking. Thanks!
