Topic: Wow Moments all over the place!
Just one day into our vacation and I am seeing WOW moments everywhere.

The first one was when I was boarding the first flight and the seatbelt strap was 2 feet longer than I needed.  Last trip I had to do the walk of shame squeezing down the isle to my seat bumping my huge body on both sides of the seats... and asking for the extension belt.  How humiliating that was.  WOW

Then upon arriving late in Dallas, we had to run to the next flight that was already boarding for Miami.  I ran and kept up with my son who is 12 and an athlete, while toting my big purse and a carry on suitcase!  Last trip I was winded walking at a slow pace from one gate to the next.... good thing we had an hour and a half layover back then.  I had to sit down along the way.  Not any more!!!  WOW

This one is kinda funny.... Since I hate using the restroom on the planes I hold it wayyy too long and I went running (again) to the airport restroom after our flight landed in Miami.  I rushed in the stall and yanked my jeans down to potty realizing I didnt even unzip or unsnap them!  LOL  They are 10's!!!   wooohoooo!!  Last trip I could only use the handicap stalls because I was too wide for the "normal" ones.  Now, I dont even worry or think about it!!!  Good thing too... it could have been a real issue last night.  LOL  WOW

I am so grateful to our Awesome God for allowing me to have this surgery and to carry me safely thru this amazing journey.  I am ever so grateful for having a healthy life and getting to experience it with my family.  I am blessed indeed and that is my biggest WOW ever!

huge hugz,

Duane, I am so very proud of you!  Your list of accomplishments and goals is a true testamony to the success and healthy changes this surgery can have on us when we do the right things with our tool.  You are amazing.

I think both you and your wife have been an inspiration to us all and I am glad you are part of our OH family!

Can't believe its been a year for you already!

Huge hugz,

Tracy

As I sit here in my hotel room in Nashville Tennessee on the eve of running the Rock N Roll Half Marathon I can reflect on my  changes since my RNY Gastric Bypass on 04/22/09.
I've gone from a high weight of 399lbs to 229lbs.
I've gone from a size 5xl shirt to a large shirt.
I've gone from a size 58 waist to a size 38 waist.
I've gone from a size 15 shoe to a size 14 shoe...sometimes a 13.
I'm no longer hypertensive nor pre-diabetic.
My cholesterol was 173, it's now 111.
My triglyceride was 184, it's now 42.
My HDL was 29, it's now 49.
My LDL was 107, it's now 54.
I don't snore anymore.

In November 2009 I ran my first half marathon.  This year I will run at least four half marathons.  I will try to run at least three full marathons.
In May I will do a 62 mile bike ride.
In July I will do a one day bike ride across Indiana-160 miles.
In October I will do a 100 mile bike ride.
I'm training to do my first Half Ironman Triathlon this year.
I try to run an average of 20 miles per week.
I weight train 3 days per week.
I bike as much as I possible can each week.
I swim as often as possible. Frequency  and distance varies.

In all I'm much healthier and happier now.  I have no regrets nor complaints.  I wish everyone much health and happiness.

Duane

I have not had a problem ever finding them at Krogers. They just had them on sale for buy one get one free. They are really good, cherry flavored and about 8.00 dollars. I am glad to hear that you are going to St. V. My friend went there and had dr. brenda Cacucci. I hear great things about her as well as your doc!I think you will be in great hands and with you knowing how important it is to walk I just know you will be a success! I am happy to be able to converse with you and be some support for you.

Topic: Yard sale time....
I'm getting ready for our community yard sale on May 8th.  I am a decluttering fool!

Have tons of stuff I'm selling - including a car if it doesn't sell on Craig's List by then!

I usually don't have yard sales - the thought of people pawing through my stuff and pronouncing it junk just gets me - as that stuff once meant something to me....  but it's a way to make some moolah!  Mama needs new clothes - LOL

Selling:
96 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Tons of DVD's
Audiobooks
Books
McCoy Pottery
Chevron collectible cars
Purses
Clothing
and tons of miscellaneous

It's the annual Heartland Crossing Yard Sale!

I am going thru St Vincent Carmel, Dr. RoseMarie Jones.  And, I will also walk, walk, walk!  I did that after my hysterectomy.  It was laparoscopic and no pain, no problems, up and walking right away.  And it turned out to be quite the operation, taking four hours and tremendous loss of blood, had to have a transfusion, the fibroids were enormous; but, anyhow, afterwards I was great!!!  I'm not one to laze about after surgery, so hopefully that holds true after my rny.  Where do you get the sublingual vit. b12 pills?
