Topic: RE: Hungry all the time!
Are you really, really hungry or are you suffering from "head" hunger. I can tell you I was not EVER hungry in the first few months. I remember sitting at my kitchen table CRYING because it was time for me to eat and I was NOT hungry. I've seen/read other posts from people who've had this problem and it suggested you drink water,a protein drink or take a walk, do anything but eat!
I don't know if I helped you any or not. But I think you'll find you're suffering from that hateful "head" hunger that make you eat because your bored, tired, depressed, etc.

Frankie

Topic: RE: Terre Haute Support Group (& update on me)
I am so happy for you! IT is such a journey and one that you will be shocked by every day as your body changes. Kudos to you for trying to lose before your surgery and put into place a program of healthy eating and exercise. I am going to St. V's for my checkup today (10 months postop) and cannot wait to see my doctor! He is wonderful.
I will try to be there at the meeting tonight at 6:30 and touch base with you since you left Ivy Tech! Save me a seat....

Topic: Terre Haute Support Group (& update on me)
So, after many months of research, planning, second-guessing, and more research, I finally made it to my initial consultation at St. Vincents last week. I had scheduled and cancelled this appointment twice in the last 6 months due to scheduling conflicts, fear, and a strong need to give myself just one more try to lose the weight on my own. Well, after this last attempt at dieting added to the last 17 years of diets without success, I finally realize that my best option is weight loss surgery.
The initial consult went very well. I had gathered all the necessary paperwork, filled out all the forms, and wrote a painstakingly long and detailed diet history that everyone was quite impressed with. I met with Dr. Stote who determined that I was indeed not crazy, and I met with Dr. Jones who delivered some shocking news that left me completley speechless- In a year I will be at or just under 200 pounds. That is only 25-45 pounds from my goal weight of 155-175 as I am almost 6ft tall. 1 year and I will be almost to my goal weight, 1 year and I will have lost 200 or more pounds.......this is hard to wrap my head around after so many years of struggling with weight and pretty much having lost any hope of one day being a healthy, normal sized person.
Anyway, the prospect of this new healthy body that I can look forward to, and the fact that I have all of my insurance hoops jumped through, except the dr. supervised diet, is getting me very excited! Now, I just want to take this 5 months that I have left for the Dr. supervised diet and lose as much weight, get as healthy as I can, and start changing some bad eating/exercise habits so that I can be as ready for surgery as possible. I feel awesome now that I finally have the ball rolling, and have officially begun my weight loss journey.
Wow- if you made it this far, thanks for listening to my long rambling post! If your in Terre Haute, maybe I'll see you tonight at the support group meeting. Its at 6:30 pm at the girl scout building in fairbanks park. Hope to see ya there.
