So, what is your pre-op diet? I know 3 girls here at my work that had surgeries and only 1 of them had a pre-op diet. (2 had RnY and 1 had Lapband). My pre-op class is on the 26th and I have VSG surgery with Dr. Diaz on September 10th!

Good luck to you! My insurance approved me within 24 hours...I was SHOCKED! I had my psych evaluation at St. Vincent's last month, and had my pre-op clearance testing down in Logansport this past week. Unfortunately, I have some issues I need to get cleared up before they can approve me. :(

St. Vincent's may be different, but a friend had hers done at another hospital, and her pre-op diet was very similar to the post-op. Liquids, etc.
I'm also having mine done at St. Vincent Carmel. Who is your surgeon?

I went to my appointment with Dr. Cucucci. She is a very nice woman. I love her. She accepted me for an RNY. I have my psych appointment on the 29th of Aug. I don't have to do the supervised weight loss thing beforehand. I only have to do the preop testing and the pre surgery nutrition class. It was also recommended that I attend a support group meeting before surgery.
I am having surgery on the 26th at St Vincent in Carmel and I was wondering what the pre-op diet is like and when do you start that? I have my pre-op class on the 12th but I am just so nervous I was hoping someone could help
It is shortly after midnight and today is the day for my seminar visit. I am about to go to bed so I can get up early and get a shower, do my hair, and pick up my apartment some before my daughter comes for me. My son is going with me since we live together and he will be the one who is around most of the time after surgery. I am hoping I get approved quickly.
Good Evening Keeshaja! I believe she is in Africa. I think she left just days after I was released. I didn't find that out until my 1 month check up. Glad you are getting everything out of the way. By now you have had your visit with Dr. Stote hope all went well. Now you are just a wee****il your seminar with Dr. Inman. I would make a list of questions and after the seminar meet with her, not her PA. I didn't get to meet with her personally until right before my surgery. I had the opportunity after the seminar but we could also meet with her PA, which I did not realizing I wouldn't have another appointment before my surgery.
I will check back on the 7th or 8th to see if you have an update.
Very upset about this post and ashamed. Looking for someone who can relate. Have Appt with Dr. Evanston this Wed for hernia surgery date and will find out about his ideas on revision. I had RNY in 2002 and lost 267 pounds. I need to loose 60-70 pounds again. I can explain more when I feel comfortable here once again.
