Well, here we go........Nervous to say the least!

I just scheduled my presentation and consultation for next Thursday with Dr. Gupta. I've checked that St. Vin's is in my PPO and they are - but I'm not sure if Dr. Gupta herself is in the network. Either way, I'm still planning to go forward. I've read page after page of online information from many reputable places (This site, NIH, AMA, AABS, and other Bariatric Centers). I even bought a book from amazon.com that a patient wrote after having surgery - I can't remember the title, but it was really great to read. I might even pick up "Bariatric Surgery for Dummies" as one last resource. I'll post more as the process moves forward! Thanks for all the support and good information you all have provided! Jeff

Jeff, Great to hear that you are on your way to a new life. I thought I just might toss out here my opinion of "Bariatic Surgery for Dummies" It might be fine later on say a year or more out but much of what I read went against what was required of St Vincent's Bariatic Center. It lead to much confusion for me. Just my personal opinion. If you need anything just give me a shout. Dan
