a confusing dilema
Hello everyone hope you are you enjoying the weather.
I have been trying for 2 years to have this surgery and my husbands insurance will not pay, we tryed everything..
Well my hubby just got deployed to afganistan for 14 mths he goes to wisconsin for 25 days first he leaves on july 30th...im scared
Anyways he will have tricare and they do pay for gbs and ive even found a dr..but i feel so guilty he has to go in harms way for me to have the surgery he says he is glad he can..
Plus i want him here when i have it..
How long is the process ? ivebeen to the seminar he has his insurance the first of june..
They say the approval time for tricare for this office is 48 hrs.
Im hoping they push his date back til sept...
thanks for listening or (reading)...
I can only speak for myself and what I would do...
After trying for 2 years, I would take advantage of this and have the surgery. I would also be sure to send hubby regular pictures so he doesn't come home to a complete stranger. It sounds like he's supportive of you having this done while he's gone.
As to the length of time of the process..it depends. If you get approved within 48 hours, and if the surgeon has time available soon, it can all move pretty quick. Most of us has had to wait 2-8 weeks for approval (or 1-3 years because of being denied at first) and then after approval, 1-6 months for an opening in our surgeon's schedule.

Hi there. Don't regret your opportunity. Your husband obviously is willing to serve his country. So his country ought to serve him by providing you with this life saving surgery. Your health will improve and you will feel so much better. I'm sure your husband only wants the best for you. So take it while you can get it. I understand wanting your husband with you when you have it, but if he can't be there , the people on this board are very supportive.
Good luck to you.
Cindy
