I finally heard from the insurance yesterday after many weeks of waiting , I was DENIED .. the only reason I got was I never was under an 18 month supervised diet with a Dr. ( yes I know it changes in July to 6 months ) but that doesn't make me feel any better. I had a few tears but I haven't let myself go , I knew the whole journey was going be a test weather I was approved right on or denied. I'm not one to give up on something that easy ok so I have a huge question . is there anyone out there that had Dr Clark that deals with Amy F. ? she takes care of the insurance stuff etc . if so id love to email you an ask a few questions about the appeals etc .. and thanks for letting me kinda vent and rant.. have a wonderful day !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hugs ~ Jenn

Jennifer, Sorry to hear you got denied. I also had Dr Clark. But I had Nancy dealing with the insurance company not Amy. Also - the CSR for my insurance company told me that a supervised diet can count as such if you went in to see your PCP at anytime in a two year period and the doctor noted in your chart at any time that he talked to you about lowering your salt in your diet, going a low sugar diet, changing to a low fat diet to lower your cholestoral, and etc. You might want to call your insurancer and ask them if that would count - as long as it was noted in your file. It's worth a shot. And then refile a appeal showing that eveidence. Good Luck. Jodi 8/31/2005 267/203/Healthy Total Fills: 2.3 cc's

Hi Jenn.....so I hope you have been on your doctor supervised diet. It can take 2-3 months to get on the schedule for surgery and by the time July rolls around...you would be ready. It isn't that long of a wait.....I know once you make up your mind to have the surgery (Don't the insurance companies know we take months & years to decide in the first place????????) ya just want to have it and get it over with.....but it is a long process....tests and pre-op education classes....time will just fly by!!! So you haven't been 'denied' per se....ya just have some pre-requisites to fulfill...Dr Clark offers a supervised diet program for those who need it for insurance purposes. This can be a good thing since you will have to learn to eat right after surgery.....you will have a jump start and perhaps be even more successful. Best wishes on your journey and it will be here before you know it!!!

Good Morning ~ Thanks girls for the kind words .. and no NO no im not going get upset about this , lol until that letter actually comes then ill be in a state of depression loll no I wont let that happen .. anyway ok so that's one BIG problem I haven't been on a diet plan with no Dr. .. my last Dr. all he told me to do was " Start Going to Weigh****chers " that it's the best thing out there. I duno I really like Amy at Dr Clark's office but , I mean she doesn't call me back regularly like she say's , I know she's busy but im the one who's always calling her .. so I guess im just rethinking everything wondering if she's the best person there for me ? I made a apt with a Dr. Tuesday so I can start weighing in and anything that the insurance requires of me to do , and I figure no matter what September would be 6 months away .. ( so alls I can say is I don't wana be stuck in this fat suit forever , so im going to fight fight fight this insurance thing ) hehe . hugs ~ jenn have a great Sunday !!!
