Happy Tuesday!
Good Morning!
Enjoy this nice weather while it lasts. I watched the weather channel yesterday and it said starting wednesday and through sunday it will rain rain rain.
How did you do on steps yesterday Sherri? I only got in 10,118- I was aiming for 10,500. But I did walk my hiney off, so I'm happy! This little contest is JUST what I needed too. Trying to get to 300 by the end of the month, which was originally my goal for the end of May. But I'm in a wedding over memeorial day weekend, and wouldn't it be nice to go home at 280 or 290 instead of 300? I think so too! 23 pounds to go!
Good morning and RISE AND SHINE to all, although I am getting ready to go to bed myself. I just got home from work and am going to bed as soon as I get my son to preschool. I hope you all have a great day and enjoy the beautifull weather we are supposed to have. I wish I didn't have to go to work tonight so I could stay up and enjoy the weather. We will soon have a new looser. My Lt. at work is having surgery at St. V on the 21. His name is Eric Brewer. His wife just had surgery a few weeks ago and he said this morning that she was doing great and has already lost 30 pounds. Any way enough of me rambling and have a great day.

Good morning everyone!!
I got off to a late start today. I remember it like it was a dream...reaching over and turning off the alarm...and then going back to snoozeville! Oh well, I'm here now. I don't do that very often and figure I must have needed it when I do. Yesterday was a busy, busy day. I got to see my sister, Cindy. Weight-wize she is doing fantastic. She's going through a divorce so everything else it kinda up in the air, but she looks great. After that, took Bill to the dentist. Finally, the dentist pulled the tooth and there was alot of puss under it. Hopefully this will be the end of Bill's pain. I hate it when someone I love is in pain and there isn't a darn thing I can do about it.
Darrah....while Bill was in the dentist chair, I took a walk to Starbucks (yummmm....decaf SF vanilla latte with skim milk!)...which is about a mile in each direction from the dentist. After I took him home, I then went grocery shopping. Normally, I walk at work at lunch but since I didn't have a lunch yesterday (and won't today...doctor's appointment). I have had a goal of 10,000 steps a day for the past few weeks. I do good durring the week but on the weekend, I need this challenge! Anyway, for yesterday, my steps were 10,274. I hope to improve each day. That, and being sure I get them in on the weekend are the only 2 goals I really set for this competition for myself. Today, so far, I'm up to 1280.
Angie...How'd you do yesterday?
Any other hoosiers in the pedometer challenge...how did you all do?
Happy walking & have a fantastic day!!
Sherri
Jan,
I think it's too late to get in on the pedometer challenge now. Mitzi from Hawaii started it on the Main Board. It's a challenge to anyone on OH to get the most steps in. Whoever has the most steps (total or average,I don't know), wins some prizes. The challenge started yesterday and continues for 2 weeks. Since Darrah & Angie joined the other Hoosiers, I think we're the most represented state with 6 competitors...unless other states had late entries too. I think that is saying alot considering Indiana also owns the City that was deemed the 'fattest city in the United States'. Germany & Canada are also represented. I had put out a note about it on this board last Saturday.
In the future, I will try to alert everyone on here when I see something of interest on the Main Board a little quicker. It's always a good idea just to check out the posts on there....you never know what you are going to see.
Sherri
Good Afternoon you all!!!! Good Luck on your walking challenge. What a great idea. I really need to get a pedometer. Maybe I could get one for my own easter present! heheheheheheehehe.
The nice weather has let me walk to work. It's only 3 blocks, but hey, that's three blocks and I also walk home for lunch, so all in all I get 12 blocks in. That's better than nothing! Gonna get my butt on the treadmill tonight. My goal was to lose 25 pounds the first month. Tomorrow is week 3 and I'm down 19 so far. So I think that I need to kick it up a notch with the exercise. Wish me luck!
Take care you all!
Mel,
You are doing terrific! 12 blocks is alot for someone only 3 weeks post op! Don't over-do it. Remember that besides the pre-op to post-op weight that you lost, you also had to lose from what you gained in the hospital. I think for most people, that is ~10 lbs alone. Look at it that way and you are at close to a 30 lb lost in 3 weeks!! Woo-hoo!
Great job!
Sherri
Thanks, Sheri! I'm actually feeling REALLY good! Evan played a couple of games of horse with some of my students. Got me a little tired though. I'm trying not to over do it, but I just feel sooo good FINALLY!!!! It's amazing the difference. It's like I want to get out there and do things.....but you're right, I do need to take it easy and not go too crazy. Got my monthly visitor so that might slow down the weight loss, too. Of course I started the day that I was in the hospital, was on it for a week, off for a week, and now I'm back on...wooohooo!!!! Oh well, if that's the price I have to pay, I can deal with it for now.
