Hi!!!! I have missed ya'll!!!! I had a wonderful time in Texas-70's-80's & sunshine!!!! YUP- I even seen some cowboys!!My,my. I am ready to spend winter down there, everything was in bloom!Bluebonnets were all over & so pretty. We went to the Alamo;did the River walk & boat ride; & went out on a pontoon boat fishing. I had to buy a new hat to cover my face, & wear long sleeves cause of my vitiligo, but even at that it was great!!! Thank goodness we took my food, cause down there they serve huge meals( even kiddie meals were enormous!!) Hubby had enough for both of us, & a couple of times I ordered a side of cottage cheese. We had a Motel room with microwave, my blender ( for protien shakes), refridge; coffee pot, so we were set for am. & pm. My Aunt had VGB & was so helpful with meals. We even went antiquing & shared a veggie plate. We checked out several 55+ campgrounds out there for when he retires-June 1st. Oh boy, will our schedules change then. I couldn't believe this is the first vacation since surgery, & that I came home smaller than I left- It has NEVER happened before in my life that I can remember. So good to be back with you.See you at the Clothing Exchange. (((Hugs))) Ellen

Welcome home Ellen!! Glad to hear that you had a good time while you were down there! Isn't buying new hats fun??? It's one thing I don't mind buying at all because I know I can still where them as I get smaller! LOL! Looking forward to seeing you at the clothing exchange! Sherri

Welcome back, sounds like you all had a great time. Did you see a place called Dirty Nellies down on the River Walk. We use to go in there and listen to the piano player. We lived there in San Antonio for about 6 months before moving to El Paso. Then we went from there to Germany back to El Paso and then to Dallas. After Ann retired we bought our retirement property in the woods of East Texas but when Ann's mom got to where she could no longer live alone we moved back here to Kokomo and took care of her until her death a couple years ago. We now live in the house that Ann lived in as a child. I still miss Texas especially in the winter months. Although we did snow when we lived in San Antonio and it closed the city. I think San Antonio is one of my favorite cities in Texas next to Big D. See you at the clothing exchange next week. Dan
