How Much Do You Exercise, really?
Okay, I'm going to confess....
I am almost 1 year out (4/15) and have gone from 301 to 161 (That's 140 lbs! Dang!!!) and I have not exercised more than doing a few leg presses and a couple of stomach crunches about 4 months ago.
I don't do any extra walking (although I work for a veterinary hospital and feel like I run up and down the stairs and all around this hospital 50 times per day) and I don't do any cardio.
I feel incredibly guilty.... but am I just lucky??? Does anyone else have this same experience???
Also, I'm thinking of beginning some kind of exercise. I know I need to. I was thinking about Palites for strengthing of my body. Anyone else do this and have good results? I'm hoping that if i can tone my body better, I won't want to have that tummy tuck.
Thanks for the honesty...and not for yelling at me!!!
Heather
No yelling here.
I walk a minimum of 10,000 steps a day. That is ~4.75 miles for me although I usually get in at least 5 miles. If I'm not at 10k by the time I get home from work, I get on the treadmill and do enough even miles to surpass 10k. I was doing 2 miles a day on the treadmill before work but that got to be a pain in the rear. This works out much better. On the weekends, I also do exercise tapes. I'm always trying new ones so I can find one I like (in other words, that I am coordinated enough to do..lol).

I feel incredibly guilty if I don't get my exercise in. I am a walking maniac. On a typical day I walk 4 miles in the morning, ride my bike 3 miles before supper and walk 3 miles after supper. I only get that morning walk in 4 or 5 times a week, so I feel really guilty on those days I don't get to walk more. I feel like I'm not doing enough. I have an exercise ball I sometimes do crunches on, but I don't do it regularly.
I need to do some toning, too. I've gone from 422 to 231 and I still want to lose another 70 - 80 lbs. Hopefully I'll be done by my 18 month anniversary. I'm having the time of my life!! Julie
No yelling, but I do recommend exercise to help insure long term success.
A lot of it isn't 'fun.' But sometimes, you get lucky and find something that clicks. The moment I got on a bicycle last year, I realized I LOVE biking.
I hike, walk, jog, lift weights and all sorts of other exercises that I HAVE to do...but it's biking that I really look forward to doing.
I'll be honest, though. I enjoy most exercise just because of the fact that I couldn't have done any of it two years ago. I couldn't walk to my car from my office without stopping once or twice (and that's to the parking lot NEXT to the building). Now I just enjoy showing off to myself.

Your parking lot is next to your building??? I would be jealous but the walk to & from my building to the closest parking lot (and to the closest non-reserved spot) is how I get in about a mile of my walking each day. I can't wait for it to get warmer out...then I'm going to park further out.

LOL...hugssssssssssssssss Heather. I am with ya sweety!!! I do NOT exercise . I do however park 8 blocks from work now and walk. I take the stairs at work. And when I am out shopping and stuff...I par wayyyyyyyyy out in the parking lot. These are all exercise and they are wayyyyyy more than I did at 300 pounds Course summer is around the corner and I plan on starting a walking regimen 3 nights a week at the track up the street (a Jr High School track). I also bought a Daily Stretch DVD...which is still in it's wrapper Will be an exercise just to open it
