Hello Everyone, Wow this hysterectomy really was way worse then anything I have ever gone through. The pain was just to much and was I so sick not sure if it is from the pain medication or all due to the wls thing to. I was having problems going to the bathroom so I had to leave the hospital with a cathadore still in for 6 days, because my bladder wouldn't work right. That in it self has been a real pain. I had to have my belly cut, and my bladder to be wraped in the mess netting to try to help hold it in place because everything was falling out. I went to the doctor on Monday to I told her how sick I had been and had been felling she felt I needed to go back to the hospital and get a banna bag and some other fluides to help me get back into it. She knew I had wls so she talked to Dr. Evanson just to make sure I would do ok she had them order the vitamine bags ect. while I was in the hospital I didn't get to eat or drink anything for 3 days because my bouls weren't awake. I did keep my overies, but after going through all this, I am kind of thinking maybe I should of went on and had them taken too, this was something I don't want to have to go through again. I will be home for the next 5 weeks, I will try to be on providing me felling well. Glad to check in with everyone. Lisa B

Hi Lisa, I can sympathize. I haven't had my wls yet, but I had a hysterectomy and a sling procedure done on my bladder at the same time about 2 years ago when I was 44. I wore an external catheter for 3 weeks. That was extremely painful after the first week. It tends to iritate the inside of the bladder. This was the 3rd abdominal surgury I had. When the doctor asked me if I wanted him to take my ovaries I told him that unless he was going to put in a ziplock, take it all because I didn't want to have another surgery anytime soon! He didn't appreciate my humor, but he took the ovaries. Once you recover, you will feel so much better than you did before. Be sure to ask the Dr for the patch instead of the hormone pills. They are much easier to remember and you don't have to take as high a dose. My mood swings went away and no hot flashes or anything. Not to mention the great benefit of NO MORE PERIODS! I don't miss that at all! I hope you feel better soon. Cindy

Lisa, Glad to hear from you. I had just mentioned to Ann this morning that I wonder how you are doing. You will continue to be in our prayers. I always tell the nurses when they ask about previous surgeries that I had a complete hysterectomy of my throat and nasal passages to help with my sleep apnia about 10 years ago and it sounds very similar in pain and cutting just at the other end. I would never ever do it again. Hang in there girl and things are going to get better. Dan

Thanks everyone, I still say out of the 11 surgerys I have had in all my 40 years, this diffently is far the worst. I am hoping my last for a long time unless I win money and get a full body TUCK. LOL Lisa
