Hi & I'm off!!!!

I haven't been on lately & have missed you all!!! The past week has been one Dr. after another. My Neurologist & Dr. are very pleased with how I am doing. (-83# in 5 months) I had to go to a Dermotologist 'cause my Roseacia has my face all broken out, & to get new meds. She told me I have to wear hats;long sleeves; GLOVES; & UV sunscreen (sfp 65)that is $$$. I spent $75 just in stuff to cover my face. I have the worse type of Vitiligo, & she said there wasn't much I could do other than bleach my skin or keep it covered up & protected from the sun.(I don't want to get skin cancer- w/o pigmentation I burn easily also.) I wish there was a magic that could make it go away!! Where in the world can I find cotton gloves? We have been getting ready to leave Sat. for 2 week vacation to Texas. We are going to Austin area, & plan to go to San Antonio.My Aunt & Uncle live near there, & we plan to go sightseeing togehter. She had a VGB about 8 yrs. ago, so she is really supportive. We are going to stay at an Inn that has micro fridge;microwave; & coffeepot so we can eat in. I am taking my blender & alot of things to get thru. Off to bed, (((((hugs to you all))))) Ellen

a whole 2 week vacation? oooh i am soooo jealous..........thats wonderful...my sister has some pigmentaion issues, here eye lashes even turned white...or some anyway.....just take care of yourself and means you will be back for the exchange so thats a good thing...have fun...

Ellen, Hey there sweetie! I hope you have a terrific time in Texas. 2 glorious weeks! How are you gonna stay sun-free for 2 weeks down there?!? Maybe I should go instead!! I think you can find cotton gloves in gardening supply departments. Have fun sweetie! Sherri

Ellen, 83 pounds in five months is great!!! Congratulations Sorry to hear about the roseacia. Hopefully the suggestions the doctors gave you will work for you. Have a great trip to Texas and stay on program. Hope to see you at the clothing exchange in April.
