PreOp Suggestions
Hoping that my procedure will be approved with no problems, what other kinds of preparations do I need to be making now before surgery. The doctor told me to continue to take my meds for Type 2 and BP. I am hoping I can keep my A1C's in good numbers before then. I have heard that if they are high then surgery would be postponed. He told me the better shape I was in before surgery the chances of complications are less. That really made me want to stay on track especially with the diabetes. I guess I should try and find a good protein drink, which is something I haven't been able to do while I was doing all those low carb diets. I am starting to keep a notebook with a lot of notes from the message boards and it is very helpful. Oh forgot one thing.....I've had 2 colonoscopys and cannot tolerate that nasty PhosoSoda. It is the worst thing I have ever done. When I found out Dr. Clark didn't require those I almost leaped out of the chair with joy!!

Wait till your post op and get to taste the liquid Loratab..
But since my knee surgery I can almost drink it down without the grape juice chaiser!!! IT WORKS!!!
The only thing I can think you may need to do preop is organize your closet so you know which sizes will be goiing first to the next clothing exchange.. I find m self in my closet every week... putting new things in the bag...

Loratab.......is it the liquid vitamins? What other type of extra vitamins will I need to take? I currently take Shaklee vitamins. I am a little nervous about taking the evaluation this Friday with Dr. Randall in Indy. I'm afraid there will be questions I won't know how to answer correctly and I will be denied by insurance. I'm planning on going through my closet the day insurance approves and won't have any problem getting rid of a few things.
Loratab is the liquid pain meds. Most of the vitamins are chewables. Ask the dietician if what you are taking is ok.
I take it Dr. Randall is the psyche. Just answer honestly. That's all you can do. I answered honestly that I had smoked and that I if I drank, I had a wine cooler a week. He put on his eval that I was to quit smoking & drinking (like I had such a huge drinking 'problem'). That's the wonderful thing about including a cover letter. You can clarify anything that is questionably..such as..I included the date that I had quit smoking and the fact that it was only 1 wine cooler on some weeks.
I'm sure there will be plenty of folks lookng forward to our bringing your 'too big's' to the clothing exchanges! LOL!
