Restaurants and the card ...

Has anyone had much luck around central Indiana (or Lafayette) with restaurants accepting your card showing that you've had the surgery, and seeing if you can order a smaller portion of food? I had recently been told that O'Charley's accepts them, but when I went Saturday evening, I was told no, they didnt. ...just wondering..... most everywhere I've asked, I've been turned down.

Hi, Most don't , however Golden Coral if there is one in your area gives you the child's price, which is a considerable savings. Suzy

Sometimes I honestly believe it is up to the waitress you have...the more she sells you the higher her 20% tip will be... (Tell her you only leave a tip to people who let you...) The resturant doesnt know she has an adult on the other end of the ticket... I get childrens menu at BobEvans at Heartland Crossing Mooresville, Cracker Barrel Plainfield.. and any where else my hubby orders a full size meal usually lets me..or they work with me .. ALWAYS let me order the Senior menu.. but being 50 helps with that.. Most the time I just tell them I had surgery and can only eat 4 ounces ... whine a little and tell them I have already lost 100 pounds... they get so proud of me they just let me do it.. Linda

Ok, thanks for letting me know! This is you that was at the Frankfort support group last night? (when Dr. Evanston didnt show up? lol) If so, you had asked a question about how you know if you have an ulcer. I had ulcers last year. And I tell you what -- I got so deathly ill, I thought I was dying. I couldnt keep food down, and couldnt even keep water down! I went to the ER in Lafayette - they couldnt find anything wrong and sent me home with nausea meds. The next day I called St. V, and they had me come in for an endoscopy. That is when they found I had ulcers and put me on the carafate and prevacid solutabs. I had to go back about 3-4 different times for follow-up endo's before they were finally healed in January of this year. Susan

I was allowed to order off the kids menu at Chili's. Haven't really tried anywhere else.
