OT-Basement just flooded
Totally off topic, but we just moved into a house (much cheaper) b/c we adopted our son and with all the extra expenses we knew that we would need to move somewhere smaller. Anyway, so we're in an older house, we had a sump pump, and we just noticed today that the ho****er isn't working..........there's about 6 inches of water and we're just like AAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!! Hoping that the water heating/furnace aren't ruinted. They're both up on blocks, but still. Just frustrating. Makes us sooooooo wish that we could be in our other house......our much nicer, newer, larger, basement free house that never flooded. Of course it's also about $900 more/month. Just wanted to vent.
I am SO glad we don't own the bar anymore!! Every time it would rain, the basement bar would get flooded. The owner of the building was suppose to (as was in the lease) fix this and never did. Bill would vacuum out 100+ gallons of water with the dry vac every time it rained. Thanks to his diligence, we never got any mold there.
Glad I'm not the only one! I guess on the other hand, this gives us something else to stress about instead of my surgery coming up next week! It just really stinks b/c neither hubby nor I really know anything about this kind of stuff. We have sump pump, but I think that it is broken. So we'll see, we'll see! Thanks for letting me complain!
Hi Everyone,
I can certainly understand all of your frustrations, I use to live on the Southside of Indy in a neighborhood called Frog Hollow. lol lol You may have heard about it on the news. I lived there from 1978 to 2003 when we finally moved to Ellettsville, now I live high in a hill and only have to contend when the roads are closed.
But when I lived in Frog Hollow the stress was just horrible and they have septics there and it is just all nasty. But I can understand your frustrations, hang in there and I hope everyone gets dry soon!!!!!!
