need some pick me up
Help I feel like I am stuck at a weight and it seems like the scales has not moved in 2 weeks. What am I doing wrong? I feel like I should be losing faster than what I am. I feel like I have done ok so far I am down 2 sizes in my jeans and could probably even go a size smaller but it just seem like I am not losing anything right now. I guess I will find out for sure I go back to my family phys. Monday. Thanks for listening

Good Morning Kylie,
I only weigh once a week and I get up every morning with the happy thought that I know I am less ounces today than I was yesterday! Remember there is 16 ounces in every pound so you are loosing....maybe not what the scales show but your body needs to adjust from time to time to our new weight and it will get slow at times. Don't focus on what you are not loosing but rather look at where you are now since surgery. We did not gain this weight in a matter of a few days and it will take time to come off. I believe we need to enjoy each day for the special wonders it holds for us. You will never get this day back so stand up straight, put that smile on your face and know you are going to be the best you that you can be today and make each day count! Remember tomorrow is another day and you get the chance to be wonderful all over again! So sweetie do something that will make you feel beautiful, Get a sassy haircut, paint your toenails red, wear that gorgeous shade of lipstick you dare to wear, wear your favorite color, put on that sparkly jewelry, wear racy undies under your clothes etc...... do something special for you! Most importantly ....live each day to the fullest so when you go to bed you can sigh and say...that was a great day! Hang in there sweetie, and Bloom where you are planted!!

Hi Kylie,
I'm right there with you.... it is very normal to go through stalls but I'll agree that it is frustrating. I upper my exercise time from 30 minutes to 45 minutes, I work out 4 x's a week. I also upped my protein and my water and I've started losing again. I think every now and then it helps to mix things up a bit. Good luck!

I remember when I was so early I out. I was so disappointed that I didn't lose for about 3 weeks...starting at only 2 weeks post-op. But then I measured. The inches were melting away. I guess my body just needed some time to catch up. Just keep following what your surgeon/dietician told you to do and the pounds will start flying off soon.

HI Kylie...Keep your head up girlfriend!!!! I've had the same problem, and it started for me about 2 months out. Up until 3 weeks ago I would lose one week, and stop losing for 2 weeks, then lose a week and so on. I upped my protein, and drink at least 60 grams of protein shake, and eat the rest to where I get at least 80 grams of protein in and I have lost every week for the last 3 weeks...woo hoo!!! You might try upping your protein intake to see if that helps. I also eat about 2-3 oz every 3 hours or so to get my protein in...that may help to, but whatever you do get approval from the dieticians first. They are so helpful, and will give you suggestions when you need them!!! Don't let the plateau get you down...you'll get back in the swing of things. O...and one more thing...keep a food journal that will help. I wasn't getting enough calories in to keep losing, so that might be something to keep in mind as well!!! Best wishes to you, I hope you get back on your losing streak soon. I had my surgery on 10/31/05, and since I'm so huge I thought I would lose alot faster than I have, but I finally hit 93 lbs today, and I'm 4 1/2 months post op...I'm a slow loser, so I'll take it as it comes. I only weigh in 1 time a week as well, or I'd be crazier than I already am lol. Keep up the great work...you'll be back on track before ya know it!!! "HUGZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ" ~~~Shari
I agree with the rest...keep your protein up and water intake up, only weigh once a week (that's hard to do I know ), and realize that you will only loose 6-10 pounds a month now, instead of the big loss ya had the first month.....sometimes more, sometimes less. So that's only 1-2 pounds a week...and sometimes it all come off in one week.
The waiting before surgery is hard...but the impatience AFTER surgery is the worse thing!!! Those of us who are 12 months out or more can say we all know how ya feel...we had the same impatience and it was awful
