Good Morning Sherri! Wow! How exciting..... I actually did not have to wear a coat to work this morning. YIPEE!! I cannot wait for spring. I wanted to wear sandals so bad but I think that is pushing it. It is supposed to be in the mid 60's Saturday. We are staying at the Monte Carlo is Vegas, just a little over a month away. I'm really excited! We are planning on seeing a show, everyone tells us to not buy tickets and get them from a Tickets Tonight booth. Did you do this? I want to see Hairspray but I am not willing to pay $150+ a person. Hopefully we can get something cheaper the day of. Hope you all have a great day!! Jaimee

Jamiee, Bill & I stayed at Monte Carlo the first time we went to Vegas (and got married while there). It's a very nice hotel. Only complaint...no coffee pot in the room. And don't drink the bottle water in the room. It was $8 a bottle (16/20 oz size) back then. It's probably $10-12 by now since that was 5 yrs ago. The hotel's concierge can help you get tickets. What we did for most of our tickets however is sit through a timeshare presentation. It takes about 2 hours and you get several show tickets for free. This time, we got Mac King (comedian/magician), Ron Lucas (comedian), Viva Las Vegas (music, etc), and coupons for several others. The last time, we got Legends & 3 other shows. It varies depending on the timeshare company on what tickets they'll have to offer to you. You don't have to go looking for a timeshare presentation. There are people EVERYWHERE trying to get you to sit through one. They will start with either 'where are you folks from' or 'how long are you going to be in town' or 'would you like to see some shows while you're in town'. 2 hours of time doesn't seem like much to Bill & I in order to get several tickets for free. Not as long as you have no problem telling someone 'no'..in which, at the end of the presentation, we always do. Mama Mia is a dinner & show and is suppose to be the hot show to see (we didn't make it there). Don't forget to take advantage of the truly free shows that Vegas has to offer. My #1 favorite is Bellagio's water show and my #2 is Freemont Street Experience light show. Both are excellent. The best..and least expensive...buffets tend to be downtown instead of on the strip. Most of the ones on the strip is $18/person...one is even $36/person. There's one on the strip...I can't remember the name of the hotel but it also has Mickey Gilley's bar in it, don't try the buffet there...SUCKS BIG TIME. If you are going to rent a car, Black Bear Diner and Roadrunner's Cowboy Bar are two really good places to eat off strip/downtown. Hope you have alot of fun. The weather should be great there in another month. Sherri

The Western Ho down next to Circus Circus has and excellent buffet that is very low price-all you can eat breakfast is under $7...and other meals are under $12. Freemont Street is great-always live bands and shows at night-but that's downtown-not sure where the Monte Carlo is. I have stayed at the MGM Grand on the strip and at the Golden Nugget in the middle of Freemont St...loved both places.

Deb, I'll have to remember Western Ho when we go back. We ususally just go to Circus Circus for the coasters. Monte Carlo is accross the street from the MGM. We had thought about staying at the Golden Nugget, but then this time we went into the Plaza and Main Street and both casino's were lit very well...an important feature with Bill's lack of eyesight...so we were talking about tring one of those two out. But now...Bill is talking about renting a house for a few weeks next time so we can get some experience with a realitor. We will probably buy a house within the next few years and rent it out till I can retire. We want to be sure that the realitor that we have handling that is good. Besides, talking about driving out there next time so we won't need to be right downtown or on the strip. Sherri
