Hello Everyone

Hi All, I've not had time to read the board much lately and had to spend most of the morning getting caught up. I'm glad everyone seems to be doing well. 4 weeks and 2 days 'til my surgery! I've started journaling my food intake, so I can get in the habit. It has been real a real eye openner. I have to watch my diet to control my diabetes. I do that pretty well and keep my numbers under control. But I didn't realize how much fat I still eat! I have to say that this whole process has been one big learning experience from the very first! Cindy Thanks for check in with us. You will be one of the losers real soon. It is a great experience. I am a diabetic also and before surgery I was on two oral medications and took over 350 units of insulin a day and still could not get my numbers down. Now I take 0 orals and only one shot of lantus at night time. My average reading in the mornings has been in the low 80's. Besides that I was taking 19 different prescription meds for heart, blood preasure, etc. etc. Now I only take two. I am now a beliver that weight loss solves many issues besides looks. I am still as ugly as ever but feel better. Dan

If looks could be measured by the heart instead of the face you would be one of the most beautiful men in the world.. Besides whats wrong with your looks... with all the weight you are loosing you are looking FANTASTIC!!! Oh yea let me tell ya this darned new knee caused me to gain 9 pounds... I am hoping it is the lack of movement and swelling... I caught a nasty respitory infection a week after I got out of the hospital and The only time I move is in PT I just want to curl up and sleep the rest of the time. Linda

Thank you all. Dan, You look beautiful to me! Linda, I'm sure you will lose those 9 pounds as soon as you can move again. I've been reading your posts and you sound very committed to your new lifestyle. But give yourself a little time to heal and recover from that respiratory thing! Jaimee, I looked at your pictures.
