I'm back!!
Hey everyone!
Got back into town last night around 9:30. Brrrr! It's cold here! It wasn't exactly 'hot' in Vegas, but the 60's felt great compared to this 30-something we have here. The resort was fine and we got to see several nice shows. The best thing of the trip was that we went to see the Grand Canyon. We were picked up by a coach van from our hotel and brought to Boulder City. From there, we were in a small plane to Grand Canyon. Then we were helicoptered into the canyon. We were then on a small boat for about a half hour going down the Colorado River. We were helicopter back up. Then a bus took us to an indian reservation, where we had lunch. Then brought back to the plane, flew back to Boulder City and then driven back to the hotel. Very nice excursion. They weigh you so they can be sure to balance the weight in the helicopter. Because of my weight, I got to sit up front with the pilot! So cool!
We didn't spend ANY time on the strip at night so no cool pics of it this time We pretty much did what the other couple wanted to do the whole time so we have a list of things we will do the next time we go. This was our 3rd time and we are already planning the next one! LOL! I haven't gotten the pics on picture trails yet, but should before I go back to work on Tuesday.
Hope all went well for all of you this past week!

Jamiee,
We stayed at Cliffs at Peace Canyon resort. No Cliffs...and with the folks we went with, no peace. I would recommend staying either on the strip or downtown. I feel like I didn't even go to Vegas this time since I didn't get the 'strip effect'. Our first time, we stayed at Monte Carlo. Loved it. It is on the south end of the strip so we had a healthy walk to get to anywhere. The 2nd time, we stayed at Fitzgerald's. Hated the hotel (lots of reasons) but loved the location. There are alot of casino's close by as well as the bus to get to the strip. The taxi's can run up $$...and their driving made me a nervous wreck. We are talking about the next time staying either at Main Street or the Plaza...both are downtown.
Things you want to try to see... (all free!)...
Bellagio's water show
Treasure Island's pirate show
Freemont Street Experience (light show)
I'm sure there are hundred's more but those come to mind. Things we enjoyed that cost a few bucks are:
Mac King's comedy & magic show (can probably get tickets free, but they are ~$20 each)
Star Trek Adventure...we enjoyed the kligon better than the borg
The one show I didn't care for was Erocktica. It was rock music...screamed, not sang and had bright lights glaring in your eyes. I had a headache by the time it was over.
Hope you have a terrific time. Let me know where you end up staying and what you thought of the hotel.

Welcome Back Deb!
Loved the pictures! Jon and I are really wanting to go back to Vegas but with all the wedding plans and all we won't make it until summer...then we will go there again for our long vacation in October. We love the downtown area best! I love the new pic! You look great with short hair! Keep Blooming!!

Hi Gal,
I really like your new hairdo!!!! Glad you are back!!
Isn't the Grand Canyon amazing? It sounds like you had quite an adventure!!!WOW~~~~~The front seat!!!! Just think, a few yrs. ago you probably couldn't ride, right??!!
I wanted to do what you did; river raft;helicopter, etc. but Hubby was all against it. He nearly was dumped into the river in Wyoming, while we were white water rafting ( level 3)years ago, & He can't swim.I don't think he will ever get over his fear. Also, he is scared of flying, & has never done it. Me, I love to see the sky, lights, etc. I guess I am the adventurous one.
Sorry you didn't get to do what you wanted to at Vegas. Sometimes that happens when you travel with others. It can make you trying to "keep the peace",right? Atleast the place you stayed at sounded nice. Hopefully your next trip will be 100% better, & a load of fun !!!!
Try not to work to hard this week,
(((((Lots of HUGS)))))
