Well, surgery went great for me. So great that I'm wondering if she REALLY preformed it on me lol. I was hurting pretty bad when I woke up the first time. The only thing I remember about that was that it hurt so bad all I could do was thrash around (how I figureed that would help I dont know) and ripped the IV out of my hand. They gave me a shot, I fell back asleep, and from then on out, it was smmoth sailing as long as I got my feel good shot every two hours Changed to liquid lortab yesterday at 6am, so I could be more coherant and still pain free. Thanks for coming out to see me Deb, and thanks to all of you who maked the gift bags happen- it was very much appriciated. About 6 o clock last night I started getting gas pains- HORRIBLE gas pains. I'm still having those but able to pass some of it. While I was in the hospital I walked a total of 4.25 miles, and I'm already down 4 pounds! I told my best friend today, Im STILL not convinced I had surgery. Sure I'm not hungry, and I have just NOW finished my first 2 oz, that took 45 minutes to consume), but with the gas pain, I can't tell if im feeling full or n ot, so I just stop eating. PTL for such a wonderful recovery.

Congratulations Darrah............I wish you the very best. My daughter Jamie is having surgery on March 7th. She will be at St. Vincents and Dr. Inman is her doctor. I am very nervous. Everyone tells me she will be fine. She is also nervous but excited at the same time. I will be honest, I did not want her to have the surgery but I have accepted it. She is a beautiful girl and deserves a better life. I am her No. 1 fan and will be there to support her. Please keep us updated. I have not replied on this board but have been here everyday trying to learn as much as I can. Hats off to all of you. God Bless.

Congratulations, Darrah!!! We're soooo excited for you!!! Glad that the surgery went well and you were pain free (for the most part anyway). Here's a silly question for you all........my surgery's coming up and just wondering what to expect.......when you all say "gas pain" does that come out then from your mouth or your rear??? just curious. I'd hate to be ummmmmm passing gas in the hospital (even though I'm sure that they're used to it!!!!!)

Well the gas pressure I am talking about it most likely due to when they puff your belly up through your belly button. So its all around in your body, not just your belly as usual... I've been able to burp SOME of it up,and SOME of it has to go out the other end (I highly reccomend being on the toliet for trying this, even if you don't think you have to go). Most of the gas is still rumbling around in my midsection, I can feel a rather large painful pocket of it in my back on the right side. I just took a second gas x and I'm hoping that will help.

Welcome home Darrah. I think Dr Cacucci does fine work and after she did mine in Nov, I came home very much like you. Very little pain and oh a bunch a gas. Even the dogs stayed away from me lol. Dan
