New & curious

Hello everyone! I am new to the boards, and have been researching a little. I am interested in the lap band surgery. I haven't even begun the process to WLS. I am looking to hear from all of you and your experience. The closest hospital to me that does the surgery is in Merrillville, has anyone been here? or any advice I would appreciate. I am also new and have been struggling to find out more about everything. I have researched from the local library and on the internet. I have found that it has really help. Also go to as many suport group meetings as possible. I find that it is nice to see people face to face and to talk. A lot of questions are answered. This site offers a wounderful book called "Making the journey together" I highly recommed getting it. It has really helped me. Also talk to anyone who has had the surgery. Maybe you can find someone at the hospital that has had surgery at that hospital like nurses. I will have mine at Johnson Memeorial Hospial in Franklin with Dr. Dana Lindsay. I have meet three of the nurses that have had the RNY surgery that I will be having. I will being finishing up the 6 months Dr. and nutritionist visits for my insurance in March and will get to talk one on one with Dr. Lindsay in March. I am getting every excitted and nervise. I have some friends in my excerise group that have friends that have had the surgery and I have talked to them. Well I am sure you will find your answers on this site. Probley not from me. Michelle, I had to look twice. My step-daughter's name is Michelle Johnson. LOL! Here is an excellent source of information. You can research surgeries, hospitals, insurance companies, and surgeons. Feel free to click on people's names on here and read their profile. If you see something that you'd like more info from them on, drop the person an email. Thank you for your kind words..I have found a lot of resource on here, and have been looking at profiles..I am amazed at everyone's journey and progress..my jaw has dropped so many times...thanks again for taking the time to respond.
