Where did this come from. I just started getting my stocmach calmed down from cramping after surgery and now I feel like I am starving. I have read a lot of you say that you just weren't hungry this early on ( I am 3 1/2 weeks out) but all of the sudden I am smelling all of the foods I cook my family and I just want the hamburger or spaghetti sooooo bad. I got back on my treadmill and tried to walk and drink water hoping these feeling would subside but so far no luck. Any suggestions???? Thanks a bunch - you guys always help me out so much!!

Head hunger....what a drag eh? Try eating something warm and good...like chicken broth or cream soup of your choice. And add some cheese cubes or string cheese into your day. I was eating over cooked green beans by my 2nd week out...just a teaspoon was enough for me...but it gave me something to chew besides eggs and mashed potatoes You are on a controlled starvation...your body IS hungry...so it's natural to want to eat...but when it comes down to it...you just aren't hungry once you eat your little meals. I drive by places like Texas Roadhouse and smell the steaks cooking and I drool....but if I went inside and ordered...I wouldn't be able to eat much...so the smell will have to do. It will get better in a week or so when you can add meat to your diet. And in a year when you can eat pretty normal...you won't remember the days of never feeling satisfied from eating the same old food over and over. Keep up the good work!!!

Ohhhh meat--I never thught I would miss it so.... Actually I am still having some stomach problems and have my up days and down days where things don't stay down as well. But those green beans sound goooodddd! I wonder if helping coach a swim team is causing problems--it is always really warm in the pool area and it dehydrates me usually I drink a couple of bottles of water --but now I can only sip sip sip...Hmmm Thanks for the encouragement I cannot wait until my next appointment. Stacy, When I was at the point that you are, I was beginning to notice "cravings". If you really take note, you probably are not experiencing the actual "hunger" in your tummy of growling or anything. This is head hunger. Nothing more. Just go to sleep or walk or clean (That is what I always did). Anything to just get your mind off it. Take a bite of a hard boiled egg (It sticks to ya and keeps you full longer). This, too, shall pass. -Heather
