Good morning. I have this terrible sinus thing, stuffy head, my nose is running, gagging on phlem. I don't think that I have a fever though. I don't want to take over the counter medicines that I'm not suposed to. Does anyone know what I can take, and I'll be at CVS in 20 minutes! I hope they don't reschedule the surgery, as I'm having a hard enough time mentally dealing with the wait..... Thanks and T.G.I.F. Melissa

Hi Melissa, Sorry to hear your feeling under the weather, have you called Janet at SFWLC for any suggestions of what you can take? She would be my first thought and she's very helpful. Keep your chin up and get in plenty of fluids. You'll be on the "losing side" soon. Julie

Hey Sweetie! I went thru the same thing! I was downright paranoid!! I went to the Dr. 1 week before surgery with the sniffles and went on an antiobiotic just to be sure. I had the sinus thing too...I took nyquil at night and sudafed each morning. I called my Dr. office and they told me I could take it up to the night before surgery. I got up the morning of surgery and felt good so I did all the worrying for nothing! I suggest you call you surgeons office and see what they say you can take. Good Luck and it will get better! I had a hernia repair last year. I showed up with the sniffles the day of surgery. The surgeon was OK with it but the anesthesiologist said "No way." They looked for another anesthesiologist but none of them would put me under. They were concerned with pneumonia. That surgery was postponed for three weeks. My weight loss surgery is scheduled for Feb 22nd, 1pm, at St Francis, and I have the sniffles again. Runny nose, productive cough - things like that. Hopefully, I'll be better and it won't be postponed because I wouldn't want to restart this pre op diet. If I could stick to a Slim Fast diet for weeks on end, I wouldn't need surgery.
