well i dont know where to start i was just called by eileen williams of johnson mem hosp i got a email this morning that said i was ready to come to see her to set up pre op tests you can imagine my joy i thought finally i have everything im ready after a year of hard work but then a little later she wrote me back and said she re verified my type of medicade and now just out of the blue she says my type has changed and i now have what they call risk based medicade which will pay for the surgery and all just like befor but now she tells me this one type dr lindsey the surgeon does not except so someone please help me does any have this type of medicade and can you tell me of a doc that accepts it here any where in indiana i live in indianapolis but as you can see i was willing to travel to where ever please help me....i am so let down i just dont believe this has happened at this point any ideas anyboby thank you all.

Ohhh...how frustrating. I don't have any idea if my surgeon takes any kind of Medicaid, but you can contact Sue in the insurance department. Her phone number is 317-630-2524, and I believe it is option number 3. Good Luck!

Both St Francis and St Vincents handle Medicaid patients...might want to check them out. Bless your heart hun...you have been trying so hard

thank you i found out i can go to methodist i would need to go to clarion i just called them they are going to send me a packet tomorrow im scared now wondering if all i have done will be in vain surly all the tests and eval's will all still be good it looks like eileen would just forward it all to methodist boy this is all a shame i sure pray to god i dont have to start over well i will let you know thank you again you have helped me several times i thank you and congrats by the way that your journey has gone good for you your friend cim

Cim, I had my surgery at Methodist almost a year ago and have been very happy with their program - I've had NO complications. Their support groups are on the first and third Wednesdays of the month from 5:30-7 PM at the Clarian Bariatric Center. Tomorrow night from 5:30-7 they are having a cooking class on soups and stews. You are welcome to come! (Everyone is welcome to attend their support groups and cooking classes, irregardless of where you had your surgery done or whether you are pre- or post-op.) Why don't you ask Eileen to send the things that have already been done either to you or to Clarian to see how much of it they can use? Good luck! Marita

I had the same problems with my medicare and the doctors not accepting it in Indiana. I had too go to dayton ohio.Try Dr. Clarys office at Dayton Bariatric Center , Dayton Ohio.
