Still Struggling
I thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I am doing better and I just love this site.
I have done some research at the local library and on the net and I do feel better. I just have to get my A1C down from 8 to 7 something. Before the Dr. does surgery. I did well the three months before but I did bad that last three months and know I have tell April to get my suger down, down, down. I have talked to my foot Dr. and my Eye Dr. and they are all for this surgery for me. My MD is really excited for me and just cant wait for the day when I can have my surgery. He has Dr. prevlages at the Hospital where I will be having the surgery so he can come in and check up on me. The nurse at the Hospital is going to let me borrow a tape on the surgery so I will know what to expect. Any helpful hints? What is the pre-op test what can I expect form that? Is it customary to have B12 shots after surgery and if so will I be on them for the rest of my life? It is a small price to pay when you consider the big picture.
Thank You again, I look forward to hearing from you all!

Good luck on your journey Sherie The Vit B12 can be taken weekly under the tongue in a tablet form (I have never done this) or once a month by a shot. I give myself a shot once a month.
Yes...this is something you will have to do forever...as well as daily vitamins. The part of your small intestine that absorbs Vit B12 is bypassed and you can no longer absorb it naturally.
It is a small price to pay to be healthier Let us know when you get a surgery date so we can bring you a gift bag and check on you at the hospital....and don't forget to attend your support grouo meetings...you are getting close to your time.
