Your Prayers Needed

About the time you think you've got life straightend back out, it tossed you for another loop. My husband and I have no children (which my obgyn thinks is of course due to my weight. Of course EVERYTHING that is wrong with me they tell me is becasue of my weight- don't/didnt you find that infuriating?). We do have three dogs, which are like our babies. We just got one two weeks ago from a rescue shelter when one of our dogs ran away from home (she was found by animal control 4 days later, and is back home now). NOW our poor sweet puppy that was so lonely has parvo. He's had shots, but got it anyway. I guess for whatever reason the black/tan dog breeds are more at risk for it, and more likely to die of it. Hagrid started throwing up a lot so we took him to the vet yesterday because i was sure if nothing less he was dehydrated. He hadnt pooped or peed since wednesday so they couldnt get a stool sample. After the gave him some fluids and some blood work yesterday, we was still throwing up today. And a LOT. Took him back today and they were gonna try to "force" a stool sample from him. No need. No sooner than we got in the exam room the poor guy hosed the room down with his sample, which of course came back positive. They think he has an ok chance to live, he's made it through a few days, we got him hydrated quickly and we are going to try to treat him at home. The stay at the vet was going to be over $1000 and they needed a $300 deposit to do a post dated check for the rest, and we just dont have that until my husband gets paid on the 15th. So depending on how well he's doing or not doing, I may or may not be at dinner/dancing tomorrow. Since I brought him home todaay he seems to be doing as well as he can be. We have to take him everday to have his skin filled with water (at $30 a fill). I also found this stuff called parvoguard online that supposedly has a 95% effective rate on killing the virus and it was only like $50 after I shipped it second day air. Its an herbal thing, but you know, for $50, I'm willing to try. We've been home from the vet for about 2.5 hours now and he's only gotten sick once, and he has kept down some water and his pills for about 30 minutes now. Please say your puppy prayers for Hagrid. He's just the best dog ever, and I'll be so heart borken if he leaves me after only 6 months.
