surgery date is march 17th. pre op test march 27

Can any one tell me what tests are done for the pre op ? I had a call from a Dr. Pike saying I had to see him after the testing is done for more tests. What is this all about. Has me a little worried

Hi Freda, You will be on the losing side soon!! Congrats on getting your surgery date!!! I had to see a lung specialist for a final check before surgery. Also, I had to have a stress test, since I had previous problems with stress affecting my heart. Try not to worry about it, you will do fine!!!! ((((hugs)))) Ellen

Hey sooo many people are not tested out enough pre surgery.. take joy in the fact the Dr wants to look you up one side and down the other to make SURE you are heathy enough for this . Yep, we may make it seem easy but in all honesty, it was rough in the beginning.,... I would do it again tomorrw if I had to but it was rough.. By making sure you are in tip top condition is only a sound medical procedure!! And did you get your dates mixed u p??? How could surgery date be 10 days before the preop tests?? I would be leary of Dr.s that do it that way... Linda

Thanks for your support. Surgery is the 17 of March with pr-ops the 27th of February. I am glad they want to check me out but I am concerned when the doc says he may want to put me on beta blockers to ward off a heart attack. At my age ( 60 ) it is a concern. Thanks again

Congrats!!! But when is the surgery date??? I need to get ya in the calendar for a gift bag. Is your pre-op tests the 27th of Feb? Instead of March? Happy journey!!!!
