I am so excited. I am a little concerned about documented previous attempts, but I am trying to be positive. Dieting for 6 months before surgery wouldn't be the end of the world!

I was a little concerned about it to since only twice has a doctor said "try this diet" and I never went back to either of them for follow ups once I started the diet. I did write down every diet I have tried and that ended up in my papers at the surgical group, it was also in my progress notes from my PCP, I mentioned them all again in my personal letter and I made sure they wer ein the letter from my doctor as well. So though it was never really supervised before apparently that was enough to make medicaid happy and they are pretty anal about things.

I was nervous about the approval process as well...sleep apnea (incredibly severe, though) was my only real issue. I was approved in six days. I think they saw my BMI and hit the panic button. I think the 65 BMI really shook them. ;) Eric C.

I hope it went well for you. Be sure your paperwork is through- they look at every T to see if it is crossed!!! I know I had to be on Dr. supervised weight loss attempt ( going in every month to have blood pressure done;weight check;etc.) before BcBs would approve mine- but it was soooo worth it!!!!!!! I jumped for joy when I go my approval 1 month later. Hope it all goes thru quickly for you, Ellen
