Hey! I am still Alive and Kicking! :o)
Greeting All!
I haven't been able to make time to respond the last 3 days and I miss it so much. Been fighting off a cold...ugh.....so close to surgery and I was getting very paranoid! Friday after work I finally went to immediate care and went on an antibiotic so I am feeling alot better. Everone at work has been sick with this upper cold and chest thing ...they all went on antibiotics so...I called Dr. Huse's office and they said it would be fine for me to take an antibiotic even up to the morning of surgery. Friday at the end of the day my chest was starting to burn like it does just before you get broncitis so......I am now feeling better...slept alot yesterday and again today...maybe I am getting lazy! I have no fever and my head and chest feel good...so crossing fingers to hold on a few more days. I have so much to do around the house but figure it will be waiting for me when I am up an about after surgery. I plan on taking it easy but want to keep active too. I get my hair trimmed Thursday, and will pick up a last few things for eating after surgery, I am still very excited......want to pack my bag but an holding off Any suggestions on things to take that you needed that the hospital didn't provide? Thank you all for your wonderful insight and support. You have become a real strength to me. Angie, I started taking the cod liver oil pills At least I can say that constipated is not in my current vocabulary! You all have a most wonderful day! Keep Blooming!

Hi Marianne,
Your time is just around the corner, I wish you the best in your journey!!! I hope you get to feeling better SOON!!! I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers, God will take care of you!!! Dr. Huse is awesome, and you probably won't be in the OR very long. I was only in there for 1 1/2 hr simply because I had hernias repaired. You'll do great...keep shining!!! You'll be home before you know it!!! "HUGZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ"

Hi Maireanne,
I took a pr. of loose pjs.; 2 xxxl mens tee shirts (to wear so the binder didn't irratate my skin); a robe; & my toiletries. You won't be in there very long, so no sense in taking much! Oh, you might want to have someone take a before/ after surgery photo & photo of you & your Dr.
It is nice to look back & see how far you've come. Most of the time is spent walking, resting, sipping, & learning about your new journey.
Oh, did Courtney tell you to ask for popsicles & a "protein shake" when you feel thirsty? It does help,& the banana popsicles are yummy!
You will be just fine & I know you will be a "Loser" soon!!! Enjoy the rest of the week, & try not to get too . You are such a lovely person, & I am glad we got to meet. I will be praying for you.
((((hugs))))
Ellen
heck no you can sure not afford to wanna get sick now...a gal was to have had surgery right after ed, and she had to postpone hers due to being ill...
i swear by the cod liver oil, one winter i was in IL young gal like 12 and my gma made me take tablespoons of that liquid every morning...and i did not get sick...i pass on the liquid but i do take a pill...in the evening...other wise uck the taste later, mostly if i ate fish that day and i am a huge fish eater....
Your surgery is Friday and my knee is Monday... we will be layed up at the same time.. you will get skinner and I will be able to walk without a limp!!
I bathe in sanitizer so I dont catch anything
Going now and getting my tooth pulled... I guess it gets real rough after joint replacement so thought I would just do it now..

Hey lovely lady, glad to see you posting. I was getting worried since I haven't seen anything from you lately. Only a few more days to go and you will begin your wl journey.
I will keep you in my prayers Friday. Be sure and post as soon as you can or have Courtney post and let us know how you are doing.
Happy trails!!!!
Marianne,
I don't know if you will remember me I met you at the clothing exchange. I had my surgery on Jan 24th. I am feeling pretty darn good after one week post-op and wish the same for you. I took a shower the second day and even put on make-up/did my hair! Not everyone feels up to this but, I was very blessed. Bring your own pillow from home too...that really helped me feel comfortable.
Best wishes.
Hugs,
Lisa D.
