i was shocked to see our ins co only paid dr clark 270.00 out 0f a almost 9,000.00 bill...the anesthesia made more than dr clark,,,now anyone paying cash would not get that kind of deal....i know ins companies say what they will pay..and drs agree to it....would be nice for those who do not have ins to get the same deal on these fees, and not just dr clark, i am meaning everything charged they just pay a % of anyway..oh well just thinking out loud and wishing it were that way for cash paying losers...

But you see that is where it is WRONG.. if Drs would have the same fee for cash or insurance the fees wouldnt be so outrages.. The hospital told me they would provide my vitamins while I am in the hospital.. I said no I will bring them I can't see you chargeing my insurance company $2 for a pill I already have, and it makes me ill that I have several boxes of bandages and they are going to charge my insurance $3.00 for wound wrapping. Why do the over charge for everything then write it off??? Because it is TAX DEDUCTABLE!!! Linda

oh yeah its wrong....but should dr lower it ins would just lower what they pay as well...and for sure the drs owe money for school and all they do before they are a dr is amazing...they deserve some extra money....but 9,000.00 for 4 hours work...wow

Actually Dr Clark makes $6-9,000 per surgery. Depending on what procedure he does. His surgeon fee is somewhere in the oodles of bills you have...it won't be listed as Dr Clark though. The $270 is probably his consultation fee. At least that's how much my insurance paid him for the consult. Actually it was $250. Must have gone up a bit since 2004
