ANY GROUPS IN NORTHERN INDIANA????

I would love to know if there is anyone from the northern part of the state? I am in Michigan City, right on Lake Michigan. I would love to come to a clothing exchange as I am just 8 days post op and since I lost 35 pounds before surgery, I will need some clothes soon. I could travel to Indy if needed, but would love something closer. Thanks for your help. Cindy

I know that the Center for WLS at Methodist in Merrillville has meetings and exchanges....I don't know when exactly though. I'll try to find out for you.

I am so glad to know that people are having exchanges up north....but with so many northerners posting on here...you all should post the dates, times and places on the boards...spread the word We have a great time at ours down here in Indy...we have pitch-in lunches and everyone visits and it's a great time for informal support between all of us. Kudos to you all. Hope you have a great upcoming exchange

Looks like you're getting some good answers.. the Winter exchange went well.. the next one is in April on the east side of Indy and in the fall I think they are planning one in Sheridan.. (further north of Indy) Linda

Thank you everyone. I am going to the Merrillville support group on the 1st Tuesday of Feb. That will be my first one so I will see if they do clothing swaps etc. Hopefully other people will let us all know of other things going on up in this area. Thanks Angela for the invite but I am not up to traveling that far yet Cindy

Hi Cindy, I live in South Bend, pretty close to you! I haven't heard about any exchange on our side of the state. We need to start doing stuff up north. Maybe a clothing exchange or get together, etc. Jaimee

Hey Jaimee, My daughter works at Crowe Chizek in So Bend and lives in Mishawaka so I am over there all the time! Read your page, you are doing so well. Hope you aren't getting sick anymore. I am only 9 days post op. I will be up for a clothing exchange in about a month and maybe we can line up some others. We need some people who will be smaller than us so we can get some clothes for ourselves. I am down to 216 but haven't tried on any of my clothes yet. I was 256 last July. Keep in touch. Cindy
