Any Banders on this bord? Need a fill surgon
Hello, I am looking for an Indiana bander! Who does your fills? Are they good at it? Do they always use fluro? Mine is a little new at it and it is hard for him to find the port. They want to use an ultrasound machine but I heard that is no good either. I went to have one done under fluro but there was no room between the fluro machine and my tummy to acually do the fill! I just thought I would "shop around" to see if there were any good fill surgons locally. Thanks for your imput!

Hi, Thank you for responding. Stone is my surgeon. He is fairly new at band surgery. It is not a pleasant expierence to get a fill with him. The first fill he couldn't find the port so I had to wait 2 weeks to try fluro, only to find out that I needed to have my port tacked back down. He gave me 1cc during that surgery. Now a month later he can not find the port again! He put it in a different spot so that it would be easier to find and everything. Now I wait(again) for the phone call to see when I can schedule it with an ultrasound. It has been 3 monts since my surgery and I still wait for restriction. I might be willing to go to Indy if it means I get a good Doc.
Well Dr Clark is my surgeon and he's on the south side of Indy. But I also know that he does surgeries in Fort Wayne also. Here's a link to his practice if you'd like to call and get some information http://www.premierbariatric.com/
My port also moved so Dr Clark has been doing all my fills under fluro. Actually I'd preferr it that way even if it hadn't moved because it makes me feel more relaxed and secure as I'm sure it does Dr Clark too. Dr Clark likes his band patients to wait at least a month inbetween fills and so far I've only have had two since my surgery totalling 1.5 cc's. I have little restriction but feel I could do with a just a tad more so when I see Dr Clark on the 30th I'm gonna ask for another one. If you aren't comfortable with your doctor's band procedure then by all means search to find a doc that you can agree with on fill procedure and after care because those are important things in order for the band to work properly.
On Friday I noticed a post from another one of Dr. Stones' patients on the Ohio board. She asking about fills at Dr. Curry's office in Cincinnati. Quite a way to go, but I wouldn't tolerate what your going through! Although I am not banded yet (Feb. 13), I have had blood drawn many times when they cannot find the vein, and it is very painful. I imagine your situation is more uncomfortable. Good luck. My surgeon is 3 hours from me (Columbus), so I will be making long trips for fills, but luckily baseball season is coming, so I can try to schedule fills with trips to Cincy for Reds games.
