Looking for local Support Groups

Hello all, I just moved back here from Texas last month.  I am trying to find a local support group to go to.  I live in North Judson, IN.  Anyone know where some are held?  Knox, LaPorte, Michigan City, Valparasio?  I had my surgery May 17, 2011 and I am used to attending support groups, but thus far I haven't found a local one.  I have lost 125lbs.  I was 352lbs before gastric bypass, I now weigh 227.  I still have a ways to go so hopefully yall know of a local support group.  Thank you and happy new year to all : )

You might check to see if St Vincent Bariatric Center still holds on in LaPorte on the first Tuesday of the month at the LaPorte County Library at 904 Indiana Street from 6:30 to 8.  You could check with both the library and St V's.  Hope it is still there for you and welcome back.  We are all here to support each other.   SOunds like you are off to a great start!  Keep up the good work.

Yes, they do still do them there.  The library told me the next one was Tuesday, Jan 10th at 6pm.  Hopefully it is open to everyone, I know some groups are only open to ppl who want to or have had surgery with that hospital.  Thanks again for the information, I surely appreciate it!

I don't think you will have a problem.  If you do just explain that you are new to the area and looking for a program to follow up in.  Like you are shopping.  If they say no, then ask if they can refer you to another support group.  Good luck.
