Pre-op testing went great!!
Hi! Yesterday I had all my pre-op testing. I had been very nervous about the Upper GI and the Cardiology clearance. The Upper GI wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be. I only gagged a little on the first sip of barium. I just kept saying to myself, "it does taste like strawberry, it does taste like strawberry"! All the bloodwork, EKG and pulmonary function tests and x-rays appear to be normal but I won't know for sure unless they call later this week.
I was so worried that the Cardiologist would want to do some nuclear testing or something. I got all my records from my Cardiologist at home and took them with me. When I got there we talked a little about my past medical history, quicky exam and pretty much spent the rest of the time talking about nature photography (which is our hobby). I really have nothing wrong with my heart but I have chronic costocondritis (arthritis of the chest). Thus put "fat woman/chest pain" together and you end up with loads of tests. He said since I had 2 Myoview Treadmills (nuclear) in the past 3 years, I didn't need anymore tests. So yea!!!!
My surgery is next Wednesday (17th). I can't wait. Believe it or not (being that I am a worrier) I am not that nervous about having the surgery. My daughter had hers last Wednesday and I was with her all thru it and so now I know what to expect. She struggled a little in the hospital with the pain but is home and doing pretty well now.
