First post! First appt tonight at St. V's
Hi! I'm a 28 year old mom to a great little boy and I'm posting on here because I have my first meeting with my (hopefully) surgeon tonight and have no idea what to expect. It sounds like the first part of the meeting is a group deal, no? then we can choose to meet with Dr. Cacucci if we choose. What is the group meeting like ? What should we expect? Any advice?
I had my meeting with Dr. Inman a few months ago, basically it will consist of a nutritionist coming in and speaking, then the insurance gal will educate everyone on what will be needed to get approval etc..., after that the Surgeon will come in and go over all the procedures in detail, and give you time to ask questions.
Then you can have a one on one w/ Surgeon, if you choose. But the one on one is considered a consultation, and is billed to the insurance for like $150 I think, So just be aware of that. Oh, and we were there for like 5 hours if I recall correctly...

If I am recalling correctly, and it may be different, I had Dr. Huse. He cover the procedures and exactly what they will be doing with our insides, cover the risk that is involved, etc. I have to say it scared me, but not to to the point that I back out, because the RNY has saved and gave me a life back.
I have also had a revision and between the 2 surgeries I have lost 160 lbs and am doing things that I never thought I would do. I would still like to lose another 70 to 100 lbs, not sure that is going to happen. Would like to get the 200 mark, but if I don't I don't, I have a wonderful life.
Hugs
