I finally got my surgery scheduled for Sept 16th.  I am waiting for a call back from St Vincents to scedule my nutrition class and pre op testing.  Apparantly, the Dr is going to do my H&P on the day of surgery.

St Vincents wasnt very helpful besides telling me that if I chose another surgeon I would just have to go through the entire process again.  I was going to do it if I did not have a date by today.

I hope the rest of the process goes smoothly.

 Hello All
I am going through St. Vincent Carmel. my Surgeon is Dr. Douglas Kederabek, and his office has been very good and quick. I went to the consultation, they done all the dealings with my ins., I never had to see the dietician like most have to for 3 to 6 months, I did see the psych. and I have a date to see the nut.,and also all the pre-op testing, and i am scheduled for my new life to begin on 8/24/10.

Hi,  I just got my surgery date and it is the same as yours!  Congrats.  We start our new life on the same day and at the same hospital!  What time is your surgery?  Mine is at 3:30pm.  I'm sure I will meet you on the floor after our surgeries.
Good luck and looking forward to meeting you!

I personally did not have so many problems with the office before my surgery and working with them to get it approved.  I feel very fortunate after reading about so many other people's struggles!

However, I was really surprised that after my surgery, my first follow up appointment was scheduled for 6 weeks following my surgery!  I would have thought the first appointment would have been within a week or two.  Then once I got there, because there was some high maintenence individual before me that went way over their appointment time, my appointment started almost 45 minutes late and then I only talked to Dr. Inman for 5-10 minutes and I was out of there.  I felt so rushed, I forgot to ask so many questions because I was so flustered.  I still don't know what the doctor's target goal weight for me is!  Don't doctors usually give you a target weight?  I've seen that from other people on the messages boards here for my surgery.

Anyway, I think that they are way overscheduled and actually cannot handle all of the patients they are accepting.  Yes, we all want to make more money, and more patients = more $$, but if the office can't provide appropriate service and care, I really feel like they should consider reducing the amount of new patients they accept until they can catch up.

I have had no issue with this office. I got a quick surgery date once I decided that was the route I wanted to take, they have been friendly and helpful the entire time.
I would recommend them to anyone thinking about bariatric help.

How have things been going with Dr. Inman & the Meridian Surgical Group? Tryng to get cost info as a dejected, totally excluded insured turned self pay pt. May as well be a martian! No return calls after multiple messages and requests for surgeon fees. Sigh!

HI Brilynn79!  Was curious as to how you are doing post op?  Hope things are going well.  Many problems with the same office here too.  Been thinking about you.  Pretty sure I have the right person.:)
My mom is trying to schedule her surgery with Inman too and having problems with the office too!  Glad it isnt just us but pretty poor for a medical office I agree.
