Found out today I'm approved

I found out by voicemail today that BCBS has approved my revision surgery from LapBand to RNY.  I will miss my band, but hey if he doesn't like me, then he has to go.

Now I just need to find out when we can make it happen.  I am so ready, tired of throwing up everynight for the last 5 months or so.

Hi Mtowngirl - Your ticker says you have only 19 pounds to go - I'm curious why your doctor would want you to go through an RNY for such a little amount of weight?

What was happening with your band? My friend had a band put in a week before I had the RNY and she has already had to go back in to have a twisted port repaired. I can't imagine vomiting for 5 months - you poor thing!

The reason I am going to have the revision to RNY done is- I know when my band is removed I will go right back up to where I started.

I haven't lost anything in over a year.  I know I won't be able to do it on my own or I wouldn't have had the band done to start with.

What happened with my band is not real sure.  I haven't had anything in my band for almost 2 years and even then never got more than 2 CC in it.  I have always been real sensitive to fills.  So like I said I have been empty for almost 2 years and now I started having problems with my pouch not wanting to empty.  I have had 2 barium swallows and an upper GI in the last 2 years and nothing is changing except that about 5 months back I started waking up with alot of phlegm and throwing up several times a night.  It's really weird doesn't matter if I eat just before going to bed or if I haven't eaten in 5 or 6 hours ( I have tried both just to see if there was a difference).  It's really strange, I go to bed and I am fine for about an hour then I get sick.  Proping up is worse because then I tend to choke.  So I have figured it out, the best thing to due is put a towel on my pillow lay on my side and if I don't get up in time, I can catch it in the towel.  I know this is gross, but this is what happens.

Thanks for the well wishes.
