Medicaid requirements?
I'm brand new to the site and hoping someone might be able to help me...
I've been working since last July to get approval for RNY surgery through Indiana Medicaid- don't even get me started on all the details of why it's taking so long!!!- and am once again thinking I have completed the last possible step before I can be approved...but I've thought that about 5 times before! So, it would be great if someone has an answer to my question: how many group support meetings does one have to go to before they can be approved? I've been to countless support meetings, including several one-on-one that I have arranged myself, but have only been to ONE through St. Vincent's Bariatric Center...

Hi. My dr. was going to be Dr. Huse before I switched locations. I also was getting nowhere, but it was not the insurance, it was the location. (St. Vincent) I live down by Evansville and I have gone to the St. V support grp down here for over a year. Not b/c I was mandated to but b/c I have wanted to and it doesn't hurt the chance of approval.
My best answer would be that if you do what the center recommends and get them to send the ins. paperwork for approval you should be approved. Make sure when you go to the support grps to get a proof of attendance sheet for your office and for ins. One form each meeting is enough. Let me know if I can help you further! And good luck!
