Update: Regretting the band...

I have received several suggestions, questions, stories, complaints from people and all the insight was very insightful.  I guess my main point is that need to get over my pity party and start taking control of my actions.  I read something yesterday that was VERY inspiring to me.  The title of the chapter was called "Simple is not always Easy."  You can probably guess what the chapter was about. It’s about taking the knowledge I already know (eating right, exercise more, increase protein, increase fluids) and using it! But it’s not always EASY!! That chapter spoke volumes to me. I realized that I have been throwing a huge pity part and the party needs to end. I need to accept that one pound lost a week is good. I need to put away the cookies and stop eating junk food. I need to find that time to exercise and not make excuses. I need to remember what I already know and apply that to my eating. No its not going to be easy but I am going to keep it simple. I got the band because I wanted to loose the weight slowly and let my skin shrink back (or as much as it can). I need to learn patents. So here I go….

I have a big fear of getting really loose skin too!  I am also the queen of excuses when it comes to exercising.  I am too early out to struggle with food yet, but I am aware it is probably coming.  You are so right!  Simple is not easy!  We are all smart people, even if we know what the rational and logical thing to do is, sometimes that is not enough to overcome whatever emotional issues are holding us back.  I did get one of those exercise bands at Target with the handles and it came with an exercise booklet that shows what exercises to do to work whatever muscle.  I also have dowloaded a variety of exercise videos for when I am given the clearance to start "really exercising" I am hoping I can manage to start exercising regularly so it becomes a habit.  There are no good gyms close to where I live, and I can't really afford them right now anyway.  Send me a message if there are any workout videos you want.  I can usually find them online and I could burn you a dvd and mail it to you.  Let me know!
