Dr Diaz or Dr Cacucci
Can anyone please give me insight on these two doctors? I'm interested in talking to someone who has been banded by them. I am supposed to choose one of them to consult with about lap band surgery. Dr Jones does not do lap band surgery is what I was told yesterday. I have been back and forth with my decision regarding rny vs lapband. Please anyone?? Laura
I would go with Dr. Cacucci. She did my VSG 2 years ago. I have met with Dr. Diaz he seems to be okay. But I have never had him. Have you ever thought of Dr. Inman? I would go with Dr. Inman would be my number one pick then Dr. Cacucci as number 2 pick
On the journey to losing weight, your friends & family will be the first people to try to knock you off. They do this not out spite, but out of being convicted and knowing they should do the same. It's easier to put someone down for doing the right thing, than for them to actually do it. So at your next family re-union or wherever you are eat your chicken and broccoli and smile when they make jokes about you, they are jealous!
Dr. Cacucci and Dr. Diaz is not in Carmel Surgical group anymore they left end of Jan. They both move to Dr. Inman office

Laura,
As I said in another post, I had Dr.Gupta until she left and then went to Dr. Diaz. Don't get me wrong I did like Dr. Gupta, but when it came to fills, Dr. Diaz was far more caring and took so much more time talking and checking everything before doing any fills. Now from what I hear, he doesn't do the fills anymore and is letting a NP do them, not excited about that, but after posting on the lap band forum I hear it is not common for the doctors themselves to do the fills. The way it sounds here, either doctor would be a great choice. Tracey

I've been treated by both Diaz and Cacucci. Cacucci did my RNY in 8/08. Then I was hospitalized in Carmel this last March and Diaz was my doctor then. He took care of me for the few days I spent down there.
I'll be TOTALLY honest. I think that both surgeons are knowledgable. I also think that they both do great work. However, what you will find with ALL surgeons (in my opinon) is a lack of bedside manner. I find Cacucci to be cold. I don't enjoy talking with her. I trust her judgement and surgical skills but her personality is NOT for me.
Dr. Diaz still had some attitude but he seemed a little easier to relate to. Again, this is just me. Like someone else said, as far as their abilities, I don't think you will go wrong with either.
Dr. Evanston (sp?) is also in the same group as Inman, Diaz and
Cacucci now I believe....and I have heard GREAT things about him.
As far as the information I have heard I would say if you are looking for someone with a little more personality you are best with Jones, Inman or Evanston. If that isn't a big issue for you then I would pick the doc that is best for the type of surgery you chose. (ex: Inman is the only one that does DS)
Hope this helps! Good luck!
